Back in the 70’s it was popular to have snakes, particularly pythons as pets. Trouble was when the things became too big for the terraiums they were kept in. People, mostly in the Everglades would release the things into a habitat they previously never were native to.

S. Florida now has a major problem with the increasing numbers of iguanas. There's a gal who has a Youtube channel of videos showing her hunting them with PCP air rifles. Her company is called Iguana Solutions.....
Apparently female iguanas can lay up to 70 eggs....
