Delta Air Lines has been investing heavily in modernizing and expanding its network of Sky Club airport lounges...The easiest way to access any Delta Sky Club is by carrying the right credit card. [American Express cards appear to have the largest share of luxury airport lounges - annual AMEX card fees are $250-$695 - before charging anything!)

Because they don’t serve enough booze on the flights 🤪
Modernizing means using a lot of plastic.
Don’t know why I clicked on this because between the TSA nazis and the airlines’ moronically lethal hiring policies I gave up flying many years ago.
“Modernizing means using a lot of plastic.”
Plastic is made from evil oil. Just sayin...
Meh. Not much different than other Sky Clubs. Article seems to really be an ad for AMEX cards.
I love the Capital One Lounge at DFW airport. I always go a few hours before my flight just to go there.
One of the problems though is now thanks to the credit cards, more people have access to the lounges where there’s usually a waiting time to get in.
Roger that. Air travel today is what Greyhound was 40 years ago, along with a Nazi "show us your papers and shoes" bunch of authoritarian. It's now a two tiered travel system. Commercial Carrier, and Private Part 135 charters.
I remember being made to wear a shirt and tie and get a haircut before traveling on an airline with family when I was a kid. It was an important event.
Air travel is much cheaper today so it's more accessible for everyone.
Maybe you should buy a Gulfstream jet. It's what the wealthy folks do so they don't have to deal with all the nonsense.
Luxury lounges exist so that people with means don’t have to mix so much with the hoi polloi.
Don't know so much about that anymore.
The sweetest club I have EVER been in was the Virgin Lounge in Heathrow. Sushi made to order, filet cooked to order, top tier drinks and a manicure.
Flew Upper Class back to the states and I was almost dizzy from the service. It was Out. Of. Bounds!
The airports in Spain have some great lounges.
Just under five hours door to door, from Memphis to Vero Beach. Headwinds on the way back need a fuel stop, making it usually seven hours.
Roomy club seating.
Is that taking the freeways or diagonal highways across...just kidding. The six is a great way to get around.
Yep... It’s the best I’ve been in too. And, I’ve been in a LOT of airport lounges.
Dubai and Mumbai are the closest to it.
I tell you what it’s well worth it to get an amex card JUST for this. We travel internationally once every 1 or 2 years and it is fantastic to be able to use these lounges. Takes a whole lot of stress off traveling.
In the good old days Pre 9/11 Virgin would let passengers on the flight deck of the B747 for a quick chat with the pilots if you asked nicely. That experience was one of the travel highlights of my youth.
