He wasn’t mauled. He was bitten and had minor injuries.
He failed to control the dog properly and should be fired for that. But, he didn't intentionally turn the dog loose on him.
The attacks on this guy are similar to the ones BLM and the left uses and it's resulting in good cops being reluctant to do remain in the force and do proactive police work. And, that has resulted in exploding crimes, which I sure has hell don't want here in Ohio.
It’s a real mess. I saw that police dog video. It looked to me like the dog was released. But I didn’t look very carefully. So I will accept your conclusion that the dog just got away from his handler.
But here’s the thing. The are literally hundreds of cell phone videos of cops deliberately (and casually) harassing people of all colors. I saw a video the other day of a white deputy who pulled over a black driver. Why? Because the black guy was going 65 in a 70 mph zone. That’s just what the deputy said. Crazy, and disgusting.
Here’s another. An old semi-blind white vet is walking on a public sidewalk. He has a foldable cane in his back pocket. Cops stop him, thinking the cane is a gun. Then they see it’s not a gun. No matter. The cops continued to harass the old man. The old man didn’t want to ID. And he didn’t have to, as there was no crime. He just wanted to be left alone. The cops took him to jail.
Now, combine that with the harassment good cops get when they make less than perfect decisions under stressful conditions. This too is very common.
I really don’t see how all this is going to get any better.
“”””But, he didn’t intentionally turn the dog loose on him.”””
Why do you say that? Even the Highway Patrol yelling at him not to release the dog couldn’t stop him from bringing in the dog and setting him on the man.
The article title uses the word “unleashing”, watch the video.
Mentioning of skin color comes right to the first sentence of an article when it fits the narrative. When it does not fit, you will never find it in any article.
Maybe the 25 minute chase and use of stop sticks had something to do with the police actions? You think?
Best punishment is to find a similar dog that hates cops and turn the thing loose on him to inflict similar damage to him as his dog did to the black guy.
The call was placed after he refused to stop and was being chased down by the police to the point where they had to deploy a pike strip to stop him. There are certainly more facts to the incident than in this article. There wasn’t 30 cops with guns drawn at the point of the initial inspection stop.
Actually they are relevant. But they don’t support him loosing the dog.
