What happened? Who started it and why? When will it end? Will it ever end? Or is it over when it’s over for you, when you no longer can stomach it?
Why have the most influential forces in sports — TV execs, advertisers, the media and the top administrative authorities — determined that our sports be denuded of sports? Why have the conceited, vulgar and selfish — assorted creeps antithetical to sports — been given the keys to the kingdom? Even if it remains flabbergasting, it’s hardly a surprise that Fox and marketing geniuses seized upon the overwhelming disgust with Team Obnoxious, the 2019 U.S. Women’s World Cup Championship team — a literal turnoff among even the most willing and eager “USA! USA!” chanters — then repackaged it as the reason to again both watch and root for “our gals.”
Again, the excessive, me-first, all-about-me antics of vulgar Megan Rapinoe, wildly unpopular among her country’s right-minded populace, has been restored as someone everyone loves and admires. How could Fox, the exclusive U.S. rights holder, have missed what America saw so plainly as nauseating — even if President Biden bestowed the country’s highest civilian medal on her for reasons unknown? Was Biden’s selection committee particularly impressed with Rapinoe’s full-field, rub-it-in solo victory lap after scoring to make it 9-0 over Thailand in a 13-0 final? Or the way she used the F-word in addressing an NYC crowd that was loaded with kids?

I hope they get the crap kicked of them
Soccer is Un-American. It will NEVEE be popular here. It is the UN of Sports.
I’m rooting against them.
Its presumptive to say they are women. Liberals cannot even define a woman now. I think thats kind of pigeonholing them.
You can tell they are all women, because if one was a transgender woman, the media would be fawning over them even more.
Maybe they are all “women”, as we understand the term, but it seems they are not “ladies”.
I hope they do, too.
Couldn’t happen to a nicer bunch of arrogant malcontents.
Sorry, Fox, I’m not watching.
Is it wrong for me to root against our country?
Beat them within an inch of their lives!
Thats just making assumptions based on external looks. :)
Just call them himhers, or herhims. Wztch them sh1t a pile of bricks.
Soccer is stupid and boring.
Women playing soccer is like watching paint dry, or grass grow (extremely boring)
However, the idea that these anti American dykes are allowed to represent this country is probably very appropriate considering the criminal gangsters currently running the country.
“It will NEVEE be popular here.”
Keep telling yourself that. I hate it but around here it is wildly popular. And in many other metro areas.
Where are you? In Philly it is not even mentioned for a second.
Easy to root against.
I used to think this way, but I love soccer/football now. It's a world-wide sport that transcends politics - even though there are plenty who try to use soccer politically. The athletic prowess involved is very impressive, and if you followed it you would see this. Also, despite the socialism of Europe etc. it is a highly capitalistic sport.
Don't throw the sport under the bus just because of some of the jerks who either play or follow it. I am very upset with the antics of some on the American Women's World Cup team. That said, there are plenty of players, owners, and coaches in traditional American sports who disrespect our nation and what it stands for.
It is quite popular here, they’re filling stadia.
But, as with most sports, not for games with women players.
I just root against that group of lesbians.
US Women’s Soccer Team Is Incredibly Easy to Ignore
Just like the NBA/WNBA.
Women’s soccer has two big things working against it: It’s a dull, boring sport to begin with … and it’s played by inferior athletes.
