An anti-inflammatory drug commonly used to treat gout could significantly improve outcomes in patients with mild-to-moderate COVID-19 infections, according to research by a team led by Ralph Tripp.
In a dose-range study of probenecid, researchers showed significant improvements both in preventing the transmission of COVID-19 and the speed at which symptoms cleared in patients. In comparison to other FDA-approved drugs used to treat the virus, probenecid helped clear symptoms several days faster, Tripp said.
"This is a significant development," said Tripp. "It shows improvement in both virus clearance and symptom reduction."
TrippBio enrolled 75 non-hospitalized patients with mild-to-moderate COVID-19. The patients were divided into three groups: one receiving 500 milligrams of probenecid twice daily, another receiving 1,000 mg twice daily and a third receiving a placebo twice daily for five days. Symptoms were recorded incrementally over the course of 28 days to assess progress.
None of the 75 patients who completed the study were hospitalized, and the group receiving the twice-daily 500 mg treatment showed a two-day improvement (nine days compared to 11) in viral clearance over the placebo. Importantly, the 1,000 mg treatment doubled the clearance improvement to four days, resulting in an average recovery time of seven days. Patients treated with probenecid also showed improvements within three to five days after contracting the virus.
The most effective treatment, Tripp said, is for patients to take 1,000 mg tablets twice daily for approximately five days.
The study included patients aged 18-65 who experienced mild to moderate symptoms.
Tripp also suggested testing was needed to confirm the effectiveness of the drug against other respiratory viruses. The drug has shown strong activity against both influenza and respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) in laboratory and animal studies.

So, how long before WHO and the CDC outlaw the use of this drug in treating COVID?
Can’t wait for the outcry that prescribing this to treat ( operative term TREAT which nullifies EUA of experimental drugs like the vaxx used when there is no treatment) …will deprive gout patients of their drugs

We just got back from our first-ever cruise. Four of the six in our party got a respiratory virus on the fourth day of seven days. We have common cold symptoms. Our 34 year old daughter lost her voice. I’m sitting here right now feeling really yucky and blah with mild cold symptoms.
RSV and influenza are the most common illnesses caught on cruises, so the use of probenecid for RSV caught my attention. Wiki says that “treatment for RSV is primarily supportive, including oxygen therapy and breathing support (CPAP or nasal high flow oxygen). In cases of severe respiratory failure, intubation and mechanical ventilation may be required.”
It’s almost like the reason for pushing the vax was not at all about covid. Could it be money, population control, just plain control or something else.

Choice of words is important to the CDC and WHO. When the original vaccines were put into place they did not treat covid. There has never been a vaccine to treat covid. The vaccines were used to make the body feel better during it’s duration when you got it. The vaccines didn’t kill a single virus unless they bored it to death. This new “discovery” does exactly the same. But as long as the medical bureaus of statistics like the WHO or the CDC can “con” the public into thinking anything will be better with their declarations that they equate to Moses and the separating of the Red Sea, they keep their highly overpaid jobs.
