The mayor of Tampa was fishing in the Florida Keys and just so happened to catch 70 pounds of cocaine

Well this is a fishing tale for the history books.

The mayor of Tampa, Jane Castor, says she was out fishing in the Florida Keys and reeled in a very unexpected catch.

Yeah, someone just happened to drop $1 million of cocaine in the ocean and this important lady with rich important friends just so happened to pull it out!

"We appreciate the ongoing support from our boating community. Thanks to the efforts of this Good Samaritan, 70 pounds of cocaine are in federal custody and off our streets. We encourage the community to immediately report suspicious activity to local authorities," Assistant Chief Patrol Agent Adam Hoffner said.

That's 25 bricks of cocaine hauled out of the ocean was handed over to Monroe County authorities, and then Miami Border Patrol.

In unrelated news, I just heard that Hunter Biden is taking up scuba diving.

I'm not telling you that the mayor of Tampa somehow staged this, but I should note that there's some people who might smell something fishy and it's all hilarious whatever in the heck happened here.

Supposedly, this sort of thing happens somewhat regularly in this part of Florida. But the odds still seem pretty low, if you ask me!

Pretty wet streets, if this mayor was fishing on it.

No doubt the cocaine fish jumped in the boat and offered 3 wishes to set it free

70 pounds of cocaine

Those 35 pounds are on their way to the white house and the secret service as we speak.
