TCU 455-pound freshman nicknamed 'Big Bubba' going viral as expected 'fan favorite' this season

Brione Ramsey-Brooks hasn’t played a down for the TCU Horned Frogs yet, but he just might be their most famous player at the start of the new college football year.

Ramsey-Brooks, standing at 6-feet-5-inches, and weighing 455 pounds, has been taking social media by storm with his shocking size and highlights from high school play that just seems unfair.

Nicknamed "Big Bubba," the South Oak Cliff High School, Texas, recruit is set for his freshman season at TCU, where he hopes to compete for a spot on the offensive line.

~snip~

Ramsey-Brooks was rated a three-star recruit by 247Sports, ranking as the No. 108 interior offensive lineman in the country and No. 235 overall prospect in the state of Texas. He's not expected to start for TCU this season, according to FOX 4 News.

He was a big reason for South Oak Cliff winning the Texas 5A D-II state championship the last two seasons. He was also named Texas 5A first-team all-state by the Texas Sportswriters Association.

It will be an uphill climb for Ramsey-Brooks, though, as he is not expected to be starting the Horned Frogs’ first game against the Deion Sanders-coached Colorado Buffaloes this year.

Moves quite well, especially considering his bulk.

Still, I think his coaches will probably try to bring him down to a svelte 400.

So right now he's a dominant high school player. The college team trainer is probably salivating over the chance to whip this freshman into shape. Shave off 75 pounds and build on the already considerable muscle he's got, and you've got a terrific platform for the coaches to build on.

If he's talented and coachable, the sky's the limit.

When Big Bubba blows out his knees during his freshmen year, he can always star on My 600 lb Life.

He looks like The Predator.
I half-expect Schwarzenegger to appear, coming after him. :P

Maybe he’ll move to New Jersey or Illinois and run for governor?

Apparently he’s watched The Blind Side too many times, it’s like that scene when the defender gets pushed back through the end zone!

That was 75 pounds ago. He did move pretty quickly back then. Reminds me of The Blind Side.

I don’t care if he’s 6’8”, 455 pounds sounds like a “died suddenly” story waiting to happen.

At some point a college coach has to weigh his greed for winning against a concern for a player’s health. No matter what lizzo and her fans claim, this amount of weight isn’t good.

Hopefully the focus for the first year will be to put him on a good nutrition and exercise/training plan that will help him shed 120 pounds of fat and add 20 pounds of muscle. Then, by next season he’d be a 355 pound wrecking machine, and probably much healthier overall.

Good footwork is always a key with the big boys. If he has that then he may be a force to be reckoned with.

News stories are so well written these days. Not once in the entire article do they tell what TCU stands for. I guess they expect people all over the country to know about some little University in Texas.
