When I saw the headline, I wondered how anyone could be harmed by being run over by a small, colorful parrot.
When those things get loose and learn to survive on their own, they are feisty little f@#$ers, at least amongst themselves. I’ve seen it in Florida and I’ve seen it in Israel. If a wild parrot has a beef with you, apologize profusely and back away.

I have always thought that Mr. Wilson was trying to get dramatic footage of a “hair’s breadth” escape at the last second, and misjudged.

One of my sisters lives in Jacksonville. She has some parrots living in a wooded area behind her house, but I don’t think there are any lories among them. She says they’re amazingly noisy.
