Phil Floraday was driving his F-150 pickup last fall when his truck’s audio system suddenly emitted a loud, crashing sound that, to him, resembled glass shattering, and then blaring static.
His ears rang for days after the event, he said.
On online forums, F-150 owners have been airing similar accounts of an odd sound, which some describe as a “sonic boom” or “ear-piercing static.” Drivers, in some cases, were able to turn it off right away. Others say it lasted for 15 minutes or more, persisting even after the car was shut off.

You get used to it.
maybe i should get one to drown out the tinnitus
Stop driving with your wife
Ford audio systems in some Mustangs generate the sound of a deep V8 exhaust rumble through the speakers. Even while music might be playing.
This gives the driver the impression that his eco-boost 4 cylinder engine is really a 500 hp V8.
I suspect this same get-up is responsible for the F-150 ear piercing static noise.
Most likely a ground in the audio wiring. It will only take Ford another year to issue a recall.
This sounds like my ex-mother-in-law.
But I doubt if that’s the case here.
Once again, overcomplicated useless tech bullish!t causes more problems than it solves.
That was my guess as well. Or a loose antenna connection.
DEI electrical engineers.
It will only get worse.
2+2= ….whatever.
If your biggest complaint about electric cars is that they’re too quiet — there’s a fix for that. Or at least there’s a fix if you own a Ford Mustang Mach E. The solution is speakers that make the Mach E sound like it has a V8. And this “exhaust” actually sounds like they’ve done a better job pulling it off better than you may expect.
Behind the innovation is Borla, which calls its new system “Active Performance Sound” and says the “exhaust notes” were recorded from the actual performance cars they imitate. “Multiple microphones capture all characteristics of ICE audio — including idle, ramps to redline, cruising, throttle lifts, “burbles & pops” and more. Using real-time data from the EV’s internal computer, the Borla system generates a hyper-realistic ICE soundtrack that perfectly matches the EV motor status and other vehicle dynamics.”

No, if you can time that noisy outburst, that is when you should drive with your wife.
Gone are the days when you hit the off button and you are actually disconnecting power. It all just inputs to a computer now.
Oh, wow, I remember those. They were like screen door springs .
I think you are right about that. And also about the ground in the audio wiring.
“some Mustangs generate the sound of a deep V8 exhaust rumble through the speakers“
Wow didn’t know that. So delude the people into feeling like they are riding a stallion when they are on a pony. Fraud and delusion are the building blocks of the world we are in
“The solution is speakers that make the Mach E sound like it has a V8. “
Next they will add a robot that looks like an 21 year old super model.
Maybe a string of random ones and zeros played through the digital to analog convertor...
That produces high volume analog noise.
