Certainly not a practice I would recommend.
Willpower works when it comes to not eating too much if you want to lose weight. It isn’t easy, but it is doable and does work.

Not a joke. When my sister-in-law died, DH and I were the ones who had to go in to her house and manage things there.
Her medicine cabinet was FULL of exLax. She was obsessed about her looks (lived in Brentwood, CA), and especially her weight. Heart attack and other problems killed her at age 50.
My dad and his brother both had surgery in their 50’s due to blockages. Dad still lived to 81. Mom was always terrified of that happening to her, so she started with daily enemas and once I convinced her that it was dangerous, she started on the laxatives and stopped the enemas. Her bowels eventually stopped working altogether and her intestines were a mess. She weighed 98 pounds when she died. Mom was just mental. Mom was doing that when I was young, so it was a mental health thing from fear.
My husband is 85 and has an enlarged prostate. If he doesn’t “go” daily, everything gets backed up, including his bladder. The doctor actually told him to take the Miralax after he ended up in the emergency room and came home with a catheter that he wore for a month.
The Metamucil is a safer alternative but most people think it’s disgusting.

I warned of this shortage over a year ago. Something is causing mass universal bowel blockage issues. Covid side effect?, Treatments?, The Vax?, Food additives?, Etc. And simultaneously they slowed production of laxatives.
I wonder what the more recent statistics are the last couple years? Is it by design like everything else they do in their effort to cull the species?
I dont even go to doctors who tell you " buy 2 bottles of the grape flavored cheap stuff -magnesium citrate"- nope they are not in it for you.
The real stuff works better without the cramps.
a teaspoon of epsom bath salts will do the same. just dont try and drink the smelly stuff.
