I've read where YT is targeting people who "have accounts," so if you simply log off then the warnings disappear, but then I won't have access to whatever channels I have saved, so that's not a good suggestion. I have found a couple of coding suggestions for use in Ublock Origin or the Brave browser, but I wanted to get ya'alls opinion about this. So far, the UBlock Origin coding doesn't seem to work. The jury is out on Brave.
If, at the end of the day, YT blocks me cuz I won't disable my adblocker, then I'll do as I do other websites that block me cuz I have an adblocker, I just won't go there anymore, but this, again, censorship at its tyrannical worst.
I will stop the Ad-Blocker when YouTube stops selling my personal information. It is only fair.
I pay $100 a month for every single packet of data that comes through my internet cable. Thats enough!
From my cold, dead hands.
On our not-so-smart Tee Vee, whenever we bring up yoo toob, the ads are inserted in the videos and have become insufferable.
yoo toob can go entertain itself.
I just started seeing it today, in fact. However, I’ve watched more than three videos from YouTube today, as well.
YouTube Premium isn’t that expensive and gets rid of all of the irritants. It’s like TSA PreCheck - it’s annoying to have to pay for what was free in 1999, but worth it. If the prices go up, then we’ll have to reconsider.
First they Rob the people that create their content and now they want to Rob the people that watch the content created by other people
Oh well.
But, I don’t want to monetize Iguana, the Oyster Slurper.
The adds on YouTube are out of hand! It More than 90% of the videos I look at have ads. It’s ridiculous! A classical music video is broken up by ads, totally wrecking the piece. I watch a lot of amateur astronomy related videos-ADS!
I watched a video on how to replace a gearbox on my motorized telescope drive- ADS!
No matter what I try to watch-ADS! ADS! ADS!
I have the YouTube ap on my TV. It doesn’t matter…
It’s maddening.
I just got one of those popups the other day. My fix is to run YouTube on both Edge and Firefox. My adblocker only works on Edge, so what I did was sign out of YT on Edge and sign in on Firefox. I use the signed in YT to check for new videos on my subscribed list and to post and read comments. I move over to the unsigned in YT to watch videos. If you’re not signed in they can’t block your account. At least not yet. This way I get to watch commercial-free videos without the popup that demands I allow commercials and I still get to check my subscription list and post and read comments.
I have seen the warning and ignored it. So far so good.
I use an operating system called zorin.
(I get the you tube message all the time)
top right has a clock I just wait for it to go around then it turns into an X.
i then delete message and continue on with you tube
4 Ways to Bypass Ad Blockers are Not Allowed on YouTube
I got the code inserted into both Brave and uBlock. So far I haven't received the message in Brave, but I did in a different Chromium based browser. If you try it, let me know if it helps.
I use uBlock and haven’t had a problem yet. I also use Enhancer for Youtube which also does ad blocking plus allows customization of your youtube viewing/experience.
I won’t do the 1 minute ad to watch a 10 minute video. Will do without if need be. I have a youtube downloader I can try as a last resort. Might download them minus ads.
If you do that to me, it’s “bye YT”!
I had to create a new account and port all my settings to that one. YT was keyed in on my primary account so let’s see how this goes.
I get the message, even though I'm not logged into my YT account. I don't even use an Ad Blocker.
