Well the white people are idiots. That’s alot of heavy items and the drivers make almost nothing. They live on tips.

If they don’t appreciate delivery service or get it, they can go lug all their cases of soda and water home.

Drivers and shoppers should be paid better.

I tip grocery deliveries generously because I hate grocery shopping and it saves me alot of time.

Please tell me this ignorant self absorbed dullard got fired, at a minimum. She should have been arrested for stealing. I’d fire her just for taking such a tonr with one of my customers.

Also, the expectation for tipping has become far too pervasive.

She didn’t have a right to demand a tip but she did deserve one. That’s a lot of lifting. Maybe if she had asked nicely. Also the white couple were wrong to say their groceries were being stolen. They weren’t. Just because merchandise was at their doorstep doesn’t mean merchandise now belonged to the people who ordered it. The delivery is complete only after the delivery driver deems it complete. A driver can decide to cancel in the middle of a delivery for whatever reason and take merchandise back to the store and he or she would be completely right in doing so

It’s really best to be as self sufficient as possible.

Where I live, cooked-food delivery people (Dominos and the like) 1. are paid 1/2 minimum wage while on delivery, 2. use their own cars, and 3. are paid a small amount per mile which might cover the cost of gas.

The grocery store delivery people were making 1.5 times minimum wage (last time I checked), drove a company van with company expensed gasoline.

Huge difference! I don’t care if you tip the grocery guys, and they certainly deserve it if they have to carry heavy items or climb stairs (or both), but please adjust your tipping for the restaurant food delivery guys!

Low IQ, inferior DNA Americans. Both of these have declined over the past 100 years.

The tip is optional in the delivery app.

Why did she accept a tip-less delivery? I’ve talked to some delivery people for various apps. One guy said that a low-tip delivery passes around until the app people start adding some sort of incentive.

Don’t know what the legalities are, but if the driver put it on the ground, I consider it delivered. Removing a paid-for order from someone’s property seems like a bad idea. The time the driver wasted and was going to further waste was eating into her next orders’ fees/tips. She was also risking having to pay for any perishable food.

The couple was also wrong. A laborer is worthy of his hire. If she delivered what they ordered in a timely manner, she should’ve been tipped. If the app said it was optional, then is it providing some sort of base pay for the drivers? If not, why would anyone work for the app?

the drivers make almost nothing

And who’s fault is that. The company who pays the driver? She agreed to work for that pay. Maybe the government schools which did not provide an education which would allow the lady to get a higher paying position. Maybe the parents for not instilling desire to learn, work and succeed. Or maybe the concept that nothing is an individual’ fault. So many excuses, so many losers......

” If she delivered what they ordered in a timely manner, she should’ve been tipped.”

No, for just delivering it, she was doing her job that she accepted to do between her and the company. The driver accepted the wage established by the company and no tip is automatic. So the driver’s problem is with the company, not the consumer. And if the driver wishes to quit the job, then that’s her prerogative. But by doing what she did it misrepresents the company and she should be terminated.

You are dead wrong. Once the items were paid for, they became the property of the buyers. And they would never have been released for delivery by the store unless they were paid for, in advance, by the buyers. Nothing in this transaction is the property of the delivery driver. That moronic racist female driver needs to be arrested for theft of stolen goods and terminated from her employment. Tipping—no matter how much the driver believes she deserves one, is entirely at the discretion of the purchaser, not the driver.
