When Jesus spoke of “the people of the light” he was referring to those who would follow Him (i.e., Christians). He certainly wasn’t referring to anyone who rejected Him.

Netanyahu is an idiot trying to make this into a religious war with such words. It will only serve to unite ALL the Muslims in the surrounding countries including countries like Jordan and Egypt. I wouldn’t be surprised if Jordan’s King Abdullah gets overthrown by the masses and all of a sudden Israel gets attacked on their eastern flank as well.
I don’t think this war is going to be as easy as people seem to think even with US assistance. We could go back to the days where all the Arab nations hated Israel leaving them even more vulnerable than they are now.
I have long thought of the “Palestinians” as being heirs of the Canaanites. The Hebrews never did finish clearing the Canaanites out of the Promised Land. Perhaps that is the mandate now.
