Here in Greenwich Village, Halloween is the biggest holiday of the year. We have many beautifully-maintained nineteenth century houses, most of which are probably haunted. Here is a small sample of some of this year’s decorations:

I will have to check to see if “Mr. Big” the alligator is on my beach today. I estimate it is about 12 ft long.
It says something when your biggest holiday is a pagan ritual.
Just curious...having spent a lot of time in The Village I cannot, for the life of me,see any difference between late October or any other time of the year. It’s a freak show 24/7/366.
I would be surprised if Christmas is not bigger. Though Greenwich Village may be majority Jewish.
Pretty :)
Looks like a lot of trip hazards on those steps. Should we notify OSHA?
“It’s a freak show”
Mardi Gras in New Orleans has lots of freaks.
The decorations all seem nicely done.
Posed skeletons seem to be a thing this year. Around here I see them set up as if running lawnmowers (and under the same lawnmower), sitting on porches, etc. as in these pics.
Now I will have Lou Reeds “Halloween Parade” song in my head all day.
Looking at my neighbor’s decorations in the front yard: “An old couch, a car that doesn’t run, a riding mower, a trailer. Very festive”
The last picture is more Harvest/Fall themed instead of Halloween.
It is beautiful. Probably a couple of gay guys live there. They are always the best decorators.
