Yesterday Congress passed a resolution (354 to 53) that claims Iran possesses all it needs for a nuclear weapon.
The same resolution says the U.S. should “use all means necessary to prevent Iran from obtaining a nuclear weapon.”
Seems like a call for war on Iran. I voted No.

We should remember the Gulf of Tonkin Resolution which midwifed the disastrous Vietnam War.
Yesterday’s Congressional Iran Resolution is eerily reminiscent of that resolution as well as the claims of WMDs that were used justify the second Gulf War.

Perhaps it could be considered an act war of war when we, the Brits and Soviets commandeered the entire Iranian transportation system during WWII. That act so crippled normal transportation that some four million Iranians starved to death.

Iran is functionally allied with KGB Russia and opposes the US, which didn't take part in this.

A full war isn't my first choice, but I would sign up to fight now rather than when Iran has nukes and other unstable regimes in the area follow. a nuclear Iran means a nuclear strike on the US.
