Barack’s wife has decided to make herself an authority on white flight. The problem is that she’s utterly misinformed about it.

Of Michelle’s many hypocrisies — Gilbert documents them all — none struck me as viscerally as her self-appointed role as the Torquemada of so-called “white flight.” In her 2018 bestseller, Becoming, and on the arena tour that followed, Michelle laid out her version of “white flight.” Although largely progressive boilerplate, Michelle added her own angry edge.

At a 2019 Obama Foundation Summit, Michelle was at her finger-wagging best. “As families like ours, upstanding families like ours, who were doing everything we were supposed to do and better, as we moved in, white folks moved out,” she dissembled, adding, “They were afraid of what our families represented.”

Lest her liberal white audience think themselves exempt from her scolding, Michelle reminded them that they were and are part of the problem. Pointing to herself and to her older brother Craig, Michelle continued in a black patois only slightly less grating than Hillary’s, “I wanna remind white folks that y’all were running from us, and y’all still runnin’.” Among the things that scared white people, Michelle imagined, were “the color of our skin” and the “texture of our hair.”

The 50 or so people I interviewed for my book had a slightly different take on white flight. One lifelong friend nailed that take in a single word. When I asked why he and his widowed mother finally left our Newark, New Jersey block in the early 1970s, twenty years after the first African-American families moved in, he thought for a moment and then simply said, “It became untenable.” When I asked what “untenable” meant, he answered, “When your mother gets mugged for the second time, that’s untenable. RUSH: Stanley Kurtz has an article adapted from Spreading the Wealth: How Obama is Robbing the Suburbs to Pay for the Cities. And he’s very blunt about this. I have the book as a powerful, influential member of the media. My book is right over there, Spreading the Wealth. I have a copy. “President Obama is not a fan of America’s suburbs. Indeed, he intends to abolish them.” Now, Kurtz believes that this is an excellent way to campaign against Obama, that you don’t need to be Republican or Democrat, liberal or conservative. You just need to tell people that live in the suburbs that no matter what they are, Obama’s coming for ‘em, that he has been raised to believe that it was flight from the cities that led to all of the horrible economic conditions, the rotten schools and all of this that plague America’s cities.

It’s all about people fleeing, wanting a better life, and leaving behind their poor neighbors about whom they cared nothing. How basically the suburbs are made up of a bunch of selfish, greedy people who don’t care about their fellow man. That’s how Obama was raised. And, indeed, it is what many leftists believe. And I have to tell you, folks, the constant push by Democrats to get us into mass transit is all about destroying the cities.

Let’s take a look. In California, Moonbeam Brown, the governor, is intent — what are they, $16 billion in debt? $16 billion state deficit, right? Maybe even higher. And what are they focusing on? What is one of Governor Brown’s primary objectives? This bullet train, a speed train from nowhere to nowhere.

Why? Mass transit. And the key word in mass transit is “mass.” As far as liberals are concerned, leader liberals, central planners, we are the masses. I remember Reagan I think in that famous Goldwater speech in 1964 made a point of saying how much it offended him to be considered a member of the masses, that we don’t have masses in America, that we are made up of beautifully, wonderfully free individuals, pursuing happiness and liberty. That we’re not a nameless, faceless conglomerate. We’re not “the masses” under state control. And yet this is the dream of the American left. That’s what Kurtz is writing about. Mass transit. I mean all these light rail trains, every time I see one there’s hardly anyone on ‘em. Mass transit cannot support itself in most cities. There’s no interest in it. America still has its love affair with the automobile.

But Kurtz writes here that “Obama is not a fan of America’s suburbs. Indeed, he intends to abolish them. With suburban voters set to be the swing constituency of the 2012 election, the administration’s plans for this segment of the electorate deserve scrutiny. Obama is a longtime supporter of ‘regionalism,’ the idea that the suburbs should be folded into the cities, merging schools, housing, transportation, and above all taxation. To this end, the president has already put programs in place designed to push the country toward a sweeping social transformation in a possible second term. The goal: income equalization via a massive redistribution of suburban tax money to the cities.”

Federalized housing and zoning codes.
This is tied in with immigration and global warming.
As the Democrats import more and more illiterate immigrants, they need housing.
Historically, immigrants tend to live in neighborhoods of people with similar cultures.
America’s melting pot becomes a salad bowl.
In the 90s the liberals bussed our children to violent neighborhoods and violent kids to nice neighborhoods. These were mostly Black and White.

When the families moved to better school districts it left the liberal cities a void.
That void was filled with illegal aliens.
This created inequalities and segregation.
It also led to drive-by-shootings and violence in the schools.
Gang wars pitted the immigrants against one another and blacks.
Teachers wouldn’t teach in violent cities and left those kids to be educated by subpar teachers.

California’s Governor Newsom within a week after defending his recall, made a law by decree that every neighborhood would have to provide affordable housing. With low income high density housing comes public transportation, light rail, dedicated bus lanes, bicycle paths, removing lanes from streets.

Agenda 21 envisioned returning land back to nature, which explains Obama’s and Biden’s land grab.

Affluent suburbs are an important part of the Democratic base. Orange County, California, once a conservative bastion, was carried by Clinton in 2016 and Biden in 2020. Greenwich, Connecticut was also solidly Republican until the 1970s. In 2020, Biden carried the town by a nearly 2:1 margin. The same shift can be seen in Will and DuPage Counties in Illinois.
By and large, these areas are socially liberal, so the Democrats appealing on abortion rights has proven successful. However, they don't want public housing, refugees, or mass transit messing up their pleasant surroundings.
