I recall seeing her say in an interview years after the film came out, that she said “Let’s do this” when they filmed that scene. she was not timid about it. She clearly knew what was going on and what could end up being seen on screen, since she had no undies.
There is no such thing as bad publicity.
That scene was the most publicity she ever had.
