A Mystery Illness in Dogs Is Spreading Across the US. Here’s What We Know

Health officials are warning people about a new mystery respiratory illness affecting dogs across the country.

The illness first popped up in Oregon and quickly spread to states like California and Colorado.

“With neighboring states experiencing this, it does put New Mexico at risk,” said Dr. Samantha Uhrig.

Dr. Uhrig is a veterinarian in Albuquerque. According to her, you should watch out for a cough that lasts longer than a normal respiratory disease. The illness also doesn’t respond to antibiotics.

“Some of them progressed to very severe pneumonia that requires them to be on a ventilator. In some cases, unfortunately, some dogs have died from it,” Dr. Uhrig said.

While testing is underway to determine the cause of the illness, she said they still don’t know what causes it.

With a busy travel season drawing nearer, you may plan on dropping off your dog at daycare or boarding. Dr. Uhrig says to think twice about that.

“We have a lot of people who are traveling and boarding. So, it’s really important if you’re going to be boarding your dog or taking it someplace, you want those vaccines in place at least two weeks before your dog is potentially exposed to other dogs,” Dr. Uhrig said.

Keeping your dogs away from playmates can also protect them. Also, make sure you’re staying up to date with their vaccinations.

For now, we can only rely on time and testing for any clues to solve this mystery.

If this is any relation to COVID (for dogs) I wonder if treatment (prophylactically) with Ivermectin would help. Look at your dog’s heartworm medication.....it is Ivermectin.

This is what Fauci was testing on the beagles he killed, and just in time for 2024 to ensure mail in ballot fraud continues.

I thought they were just torturing dogs for the fun of it?

Fauci is the kind of arch villain previously only seen in comic books. He is always up to something sinister, but gets away at the end to cause more mischief in the future.

He’s the beagle killing doctor of the CDC! Doesn’t believe in invermectin or vitamin C!

Thinks he’s a celebrity, likes to be on tv, he’s the beagle killing doctor of the CDC!

To the tune of the Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy of Company C.

I’m here all week! Try the fish.

We never boarded our 11 lb Lhasa Apso female. We left her with reliable friends when we were on travel. The dog never got sick once in her life, and lived past age 16. The secret to long disease free life is, brush teeth once daily with a soft tooth brush without tooth paste and isolate from other dogs as much as possible.

My 11 Lb Lhasa ate only Purina dry dog food with meat as first ingredient. No vitamins, no ivermectin, or any other drugs. The dog lived to age 16+ years without getting sick even once. I brushed her teeth daily before bed time. Nouth germs are the biggest enemy of dogs with attack heart, kidneys and liver.

Heartgard and Tri-Heart are ivermectin-based but Sentinal and Interceptor aren’t, so check the ingredients to be certain.

Oh boy, are you correct on that one. That is the ONLY thing that would make people rebel these days. Nothing else seems to affect them.

But is it transferable to humans yet.
Oh well, if they need more mandatory masks
and dog abortions.

Correct!!! One needs to use the Ivermectin based formulation....... OR if you are already treating your dog year-round for heartworm prevention, be sure you are using the Heartgard or Tri-Heart product. If so, your dog may already have protection by virtue of the Ivermectin formulation...that is IF this happens to be some sort of COVID mutation affecting our dogs!!
