Except I wouldn’t call those “Smart-ass Democrat responses.” Nope, those are every day normal Democrat responses. They are dead serious about those things.
This is a tough problem, if people get political.
We, the conservatives of Free Republic, are among the most conservative of conservatives in America.
And many of us have people in our group of family and friends who are more liberal than we are. So it does become a struggle, if the more liberal people in our social circles start spewing out liberal pablum. Do we do point/counter point discussions with them, just let it go like water off a duck’s back when they spew out their nonsense, or what do we do?
Unity to the Dems means “our way or not your way.” It means join them or surrender because they won’t let up and will get meaner and less sane as they demand your soul rather than in engage in enjoying nonpolitical moments.

My response was "THIS CONVERSATION IS OVER !!!" and I hung up, went to Contacts in My Phone and BLOCKED CALLS for her and her commie husband. I have just deleted any emails, cards, letters and anything else from her/him. I ignore the fazebook posts, no Holiday calls- NOTHING !!!
he's tried via several of his multiple emails to get Me to contact her, he's tried to give Us first option on her minivan when they replaced it by email to My Wife and She just replied don't need it and She's not getting involved on My Disowning Method.
The solution to shitlib rhetoric at the Thanksgiving table is simple. Use said rhetoric spouter’s nose to plow another furrow or two in the garden. Frozen ground? So much the better.
I didn’t host Thanksgiving this year because my wife’s family are useful idiots of the loony left and I don’t need to hear the rocks rattling around in their skulls. Instead I ate Chinese food and watched football. Was much happier. And my wife didn’t put up a fight.
I gave a short lecture to my family yesterday and then I read George Washington’s original Thanksgiving Day proclamation to them. My message was essentially, vote for a Democrat and you’re voting for the destruction of America, endless surveillance of the people and unlimited abortion. And further, if you vote Democrat you have no business calling yourself a Christian.
Also said that if anyone would like to discuss details I’d be happy to discuss later.
Family members ranged from 11 years old to 86.

As I stated I don’t associate with liberals, even family members. That being said whenever a liberal brings up a subject you counter punch as hard as you can with facts. Be brutal, emphasize emotions are irrelevant in any argument and NEVER apologize. That usually sends them running off crying because you won’t deal with their emotions.
It’s that simple to me but if you have to be around them for whatever reason tell them NO POLITICS and to STFU or leave.
I’m blessed, I don’t have any dumb assed liberals in my immediate or extended family.
I suggest, after having a Main Table and a Kid’s Table off to the side, a third Woke Table set up far off in the back yard.
Provide ‘tofurkey’ and other horrors from Whole Foods for their consumption while hanging a Donald Trump pinata for them to beat on. Fill said pinata with lies and empty promises from their Democrat Party.
