Los Angeles Chargers Fans Fill SoFi Stadium With ‘Fire Staley’ Chants In A Truly Embarrassing Display Of Desperation

Chargers fans are desperate for success, and I don’t blame ’em.

With Sunday’s action all said and done, the Los Angeles Chargers are now sitting at a dismal 4-7, and this just a season after making the playoffs. And as a result, let’s just be honest here, head coach Brandon Staley is most likely going to get canned after the campaign is over.

You know Chargers fans would be absolutely ecstatic over that news. That was on clear display (along with their pain, frustration and dead dreams) during Sunday night’s game against the Baltimore Ravens, as “Fire Staley” chants filled SoFi Stadium.

“FIRE STALEY! FIRE STALEY! FIRE STALEY!”

Oh yeah, Los Angeles fans kept it real.

From the field all the way up to the nosebleeds, Chargers went full-force in uniting to hammer Staley with chants, making it clear as day they want him out of Hollywood. And can you blame them for the wasted year of having Justin Herbert as their quarterback?

Man, I truly do feel for Los Angeles and Chargers fans.

Y’all already know how much I love LA, and I’ve been a fan of the Chargers brand ever since the LaDainian Tomlinson days. Man, I loved that dude.

Here’s to you, Chargers fans. Here’s to finding your success like my Miami Dolphins eventually did.

When Detroit played them it was full of Lions fans.

Years ago, New York Giants fans protested management by going to the stadium, standing outside and burning or teraing up their tickets. They also called WNBC-TV Channel 4 and told them NOT to broadcast the Giants-Chiefs game (Chiefs were also awful) even though it was a rare opportunity for what was then an AFC station to show a local Giants game. WNBC honored the request.

George Young and Ray Perkins were brought on board, and started the turn-around. Bill Parcells started out as linebackers coach and became head coach only a few years later. The fan protest forced an upheaval from the overly Mara-Robustelli run operation.

I don’t recall such dismal, mediocre play in the NFL. A lot of bad teams playing each other in bad games.

A far cry from those two Super Bowls the Giants and Patriots played against each other.

New England understands the feeling.

The first football game I went to was Patriots @ Giants in Yale Bowl, in New Haven, CT. (Note: Connecticut is part of New England, but there were FEW Patriots fans there in those days.) This was in the '70s as Giants Stadium was being built, and both teams were as bad then as they are now.

A team with a losing record will make the playoffs, because I don’t see anyone from the NFC South finishing with a winning record.

They were imported, you know how brand conscious California is, they hate domestic anything..............

When Carolina is 1-10, and still not mathematically eliminated from the playoffs, that says it all.

It's been a few years since I watched pro sports and now that I'm on the outside looking in, it's easy to see how silly it looks for grown men to be so emotionally invested in the performance of some ball clue that supposedly "represents" their hometown or alma mater.

Not to mention that the highly paid athletes have no loyalty to the "team" whatsoever and could be well be playing for a team in another town next season if the pay is a little better.

My wife, who had been nagging me for years not to waste time on such nonsense, had it right all along.
