Cruisin’ (Lucy and Ramona and Sunset Sam), a Nesmith music video blast from the distant past.

Dolenz was happy to be in a TV band, but he did point out later that the members were miscast. According to Dolenz, Jones was a very good drummer and Tork was a pretty good guitar player. Dolenz thought Nesmith would have been better on bass in a real band. However, they all made a lot of money from the TV show.
Mickey was primarily an actor but with a good voice. He was a child actor in a successful TV series. Davey was experienced in musical stage theater having co-starred in a successful theater production of “Oliver” in London. Mike and Peter were musicians and Mike was the best. Mike actually had a hit song post Monkees with the beautiful song Joanne.
As I mentioned, my memorable visit was 40 plus (more on the plus side) years ago. We made a road trip from San Diego to Napa along the coastal highway. Took a week. My recollection was two beautiful days in Carmel. If I recall, we stayed at a Holiday Inn that was right in the little town. It's probably gone by now. No longer a place for a Holiday Inn :-).
Ping!

I came across a “Best of the Monkees” playlist on Spotify recently. I figured that I would recognize 4-5 songs. They had more hits than I realized, and several more of the ones I didn’t recognize were very good. They may have started as TV characters, but they ended up with some really good songs.
Nesmith also produced “Repo Man.”
Should have won an academy award just for this one scene.
My favorite song by Mike Nesmith [ Joanne] https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8lalu01V8H8 Sad and sweet.

The problem with California, is it’s in California...
The problem with California, is the Californians.
Yep, my first thought was Liquid Paper bought the house, too.
That’s awfully cheap so guessing they’re hoping for a bidding war.
I'm pretty sure Mike Nesmith is from Massachusetts... and his mother used to occasionally call into the Howie Carr conservative talk radio show. Any other Howie Carr fans remember?
Ah Clint Eastwood was also mayor there in the 80’s
Definitely... Clint Eastwood lives there...
BTTT
Mike and Frank, who wouda thunk it. Pretty funny.
