Scientific breakthrough of human-to-whale conversation could lead to alien contact
These scientists are trying to make a connection between the deep sea and outer space.
A group of scientists said they had a first-of-its-kind conversation with a humpback whale that could lead to humans communicating with aliens one day.
The extraordinary exchange happened between researchers and a female humpback in August 2021 for 20 minutes in southeast Alaska. The scientists played a recorded “contact” call that boomed underwater, drawing the whale to their boat, according to a new study.
The marine mammal, named Twain, circled the team’s boat and consistently replied in conversational style to the “greeting signal,” according to a SETI Institute news release.
Dr. Brenda McCowan, of U.C. Davis, lauded the breakthrough.

You mean, they called the whale and the whale responded. Haven’t duck hunters been doing this since forever? I called my dog and he came and wagged his tail. I asked if he needed to go out and he yipped and went to the door. How is this different?

I bought talking buttons for my cat. I’ve been working for 6 weeks and it’s finally starting to occasionally press the snack button. It doesn’t understand why just scratching the box of treats is not sufficient and direct communication.

It’s not a “conversation” any more than a duck hunter luring a duck with a duck call and the duck quacking back at him is a conversation.
A conversation requires understanding of meaning by both parties.
this is so idiotically childish....it’s actually less sophisticated than a duck call.
They prerecorded the sounds that whales make and then played them in the water. Of course the whales responded. They even admitted they might be playing back a recording of the whale that responded. They weren’t even “making the sound” (like the clever duck hunter). They were a mere conduit for sounds that whales already make.
Then to jump to the idiotically far fetched “this is how we will communicate with aliens” is maybe why we don’t “trust the science”.
No one even brought up the objection, “well have you recorded alien sounds yet?”.
This whole thing is ridiculous.
Plus, it was in one of the Star Trek movies. I think that’s where they got the alien idea.

Currently, Gematria (English alphabet) and numerology are used to break down current events and news stories - to reveal meanings and connections that are not obvious. The idea behind this is that events are scripted, and the numeric component is evidence of the scripting.
To be clear, this is not the same thing as Biblical Gematria - which uses the Hebrew alphabet and is a complete field of its own, complex and heavily mathematical.
The four base Gematria ciphers used are Ordinal, Reverse Ordinal, Reduction and Reverse Reduction. Ordinal counts letters A to Z, A = 1, Z = 26. In Reverse Ordinal, Z = 1, A = 26. The Reduction ciphers use numbers 1-9, then repeat.
This particular story relates whales and aliens, and seems to have a numeric element.
