GM offered this on the first GM EV more than 2 decades ago. The technology isn’t new, at all. One problem is that it’s not very efficient.

Between the thousands of years of oil and natural gas under our feet, we could also build next generation nuclear plants and have very, very inexpensive and abundant energy.
