Most all of them have their own cars at the time they graduate from high school. Around here it is very rare one doesn’t. My granddaughter, 19, just traded up to a 2020 RAV4 (newer than any of my cars).
I grew up poor. I had to wait until I made my own money to get my first car.
Some young people are discovering that times are tight enough for their parents that parents can’t cover them as much as they would like.
