One in 40 UK adults take the class A drug, which is behind only Australia globally Experts say high use of the powder is fuelled by the UK's binge drinking culture
Millions of Britons and Americans are likely to celebrate a white Christmas regardless of the weather — as figures show the UK has the second highest rate of cocaine use in the world, with the US in fifth.
One in 40 adults (2.7 percent) in the UK take the class A drug, which is more than any other country in Europe and behind only Australia globally.
Meanwhile 2.4 percent of Americans over 18 consume the drug in powder form, behind Austria and Spain.
Experts say high use of cocaine in the UK is fuelled by the UK's binge drinking culture, with many taking the stimulant to counteract the sedative effects of alcohol.
The US' close proximity to Mexico makes it easy and relatively cheap for Americans to access the drug.
Once the preserve of high society, it is now widely used across all social classes, as its price has fallen in real terms over the past decade and it can be delivered 'as quickly as a pizza'.

I figured the USA would be at the top. Cocaine has to be cheaper here than in Europe.
Much as I love the Brits, I’d have to be stoned 24/7 to live in England.
I don’t understand this sentence: “Experts say high use of the powder is fuelled by the UK’s binge drinking culture”. Why would drinking fuel cocaine consumption? What is the connection between the two? They seem rather different.
Finland 0.9%
Norway 0.8%
I guess they have coffee instead.
Don’t know what the Aussies problem is.

I call BS. I'm seeing levels of 80% to 95% among all the people I associate with in the dope trap.
That is horrible. Where is that from? And what does “dope trap” mean?
You can stay up longer drinking, then get up and rev the engine again to get back to work.
“Cocaine’s a hell of a drug!”
Some unspeakably depressing photos of a Baltimore crack house
Read the second half of that sentence!

Regards,
Demon Rum (alcohol) is a downer and cocaine is an upper. So the game that can be played until your health runs out. Is to drink to excess, then use cocaine to sober you up a bit.
US ranking is too low. But I believe it when they say that Australia is the top consumer of cocaine. Being that Australia is across the Pacific Ocean from Colombia and Peru. -— 10,097 miles.
“Colombia, the largest producer of the plant and its product cocaine, 2021 it increased by 42 percent. Also Peru ......”
Bingo....
When I was in my twenties my friends and I took amphetamine pills called “whites” or “cross tops” before we went out partying. We’d drink until the bars closed, then continue drinking and/or smoking weed at someone’s house until the sun came up.
The purpose of taking the pills was to keep us going through the night. Cocaine will do the same thing but the effects don’t last as long.
