That would be a great 5k road race theme!
The Johnny Seven! I got one at Christmas - I was about 10.
Tons of fun. Took several months for me to tear it up completely.

“Battery-powered gadgets like racecars and dolls, for example, can lead to burns in the throat and stomach lining if the coin-shaped batteries are swallowed.”
In a race car or doll??? Hm…
Mecurichrome is for sissies. Merthiolate? It stung so bad you knew it was killing germs in Rambo style. 😂

” Mecurichrome “ did not sting. Merthiolate did and boy did it sting! And Iodine? WOW!
Many felt that if it did not sting it did not kill germs.
“Weaponry toys like Nerf guns could hit kids in the eyes, resulting in pain, blindness, and even eye loss.”
Nerf guns were invented to PREVENT that.
“Weaponry toys” suddenly became bad when Bobby Kennedy was murdered by a Palestinian immigrant in 1968. The news media went berserk over the “Glorification of violence” on TV, movies and toy guns (Actually TV and movies back then were mostly safe being filmed under the Hays Code. Once it was removed and replaced with a joke of a Ratings System(GMRX) they reshot scenes to add more blood, guts, violence and sex. Lots of SEX to get the “R” and “X” rating.
***Toys with button batteries or magnets***
I still remember getting wind up toys. One of my favorite was a train set in 1952. Yes, I am that old!
” No doubt about it, we were badass back in the day.”

Oh yeah, a carbide cannon.
Super Bass-O-Matic.
You’re takin’ me back.
Johnny Switchblade.

I had a buddy, a single child, that saved every toy he got in the original box. He died in the 90s and his wife was left with a collection of pristine toys from the 50s and 60s.
It desensitizes them to guns. /s
I remember cap guns. I bought my boys them years ago and the smell really brought back memories.
Thank you.
Was about to post the same comment.
