During the Civil War a proclamation of insurrection was issued. Does insurrection require proclamation or official declaration?

There had been a proclamation of insurrection at the beginning of The Civil War as well an ending proclamation.

Do insurrections require official recognition?

No, Demonicrats just call whatever they want an ‘insurrection’. Questioning their integrity, protesting peacefully, thinking we still have Constitutional rights… anything they don’t like.

An insurrection is an action. “ a violent uprising against an authority or government.”

It has nothing to do with the Insurrection Act. That and the 14th Amendment are not dependent on each other.

I guess the folks will squeal about whether it was violent or not. But it certainly was against an Authority (The Congress) and the Government.

Those are facts that are not really in dispute.

But if the lord Trump (PBUH) says it ain’t so…I guess it doesn’t matter what anyone else thinks.

I think that its possible to proclaim what the Democrats are up to as an ‘insurrection’ its an idea not a concrete plan.

Only a leftist Democrat is idiotic enough to believe one can one wage an insurrection against themselves.

Trump was the Constitutionally recognized head of the executive branch of the US on 6 Jan 2020.

It wasn’t violent. Riotous yes and it was a small part of the overall demonstration. J6 was not anywhere near being an insurrection and anyone that believes so is a stooge.

Early in the first Civil War at the Battle of Bull Run:
“Men, women, and even children came to witness the predicted Union victory, bringing along picnic baskets and opera glasses. Bull Run soon became known as the “picnic battle.” Among the civilian ranks were some of Congress’s most powerful senators—many of whom had called for just such a campaign.”

No word on whether it was the opening day for the insurrection.

I don't know whether this is the proper place for this or not, but I found a couple interesting bits in the 14th amendment.

Section 3.
No person shall be a Senator or Representative in Congress, or elector of President and Vice-President, or hold any office, civil or military, under the United States, or under any State, who, having previously taken an oath, as a member of Congress, or as an officer of the United States, or as a member of any State legislature, or as an executive or judicial officer of any State, to support the Constitution of the United States, shall have engaged in insurrection or rebellion against the same, or given aid or comfort to the enemies thereof. But Congress may by a vote of two-thirds of each House, remove such disability.

Section 5.
The Congress shall have the power to enforce, by appropriate legislation, the provisions of this article.

First, even if President Trump did participate in an insurrection (which I don't believe he did), he is only prohibited from holding office - not being elected to office. What happens if he is elected but not capable of holding office is not clear. Maybe the House would have to select the president. Additionally, Congress has the power to remove any prohibition on office due to insurrection at any time. Thus any insurrection accusation should not keep him off the ballot.

Second, Congress in empowered to enforce this amendment. It says nothing about state officials being able to.

The constitution gives complete authority over the Presidential Elector selection to the states.

And since none of us are on the Supreme Court, it is foolish to constantly debate this. WE can do nothing about it. You guys need to get worked up over something else.

Yep but you can’t question their narrative. Next time they will get a true insurrection. They will wet their panties.
