In ‘God made a fighter’ ad, DeSantis paves way to replace Trump as anointed one
Religion News ^ | November 7, 2022 | Jack Jenkins

In an advertisement unveiled Friday[Nov 4, 2022] on the Twitter feed of Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis’ wife, Casey, black-and-white images of DeSantis and his family fade in and out as a narrator declares that “on the eighth day, God looked down on his planned paradise and said, ‘I need a protector.’ So God made a fighter.”

The ad is the latest sign that DeSantis, a rising Republican star whose likely reelection on Tuesday (Nov. 8) is speculated to be the last step before a presidential run in 2024, may be making a play to become the anointed candidate of conservative religious voters. Doing so would likely challenge the electoral ambitions of former-President Donald Trump, who may end up facing off against DeSantis in the Republican presidential primaries.

Perhaps feeling a threat to his status as the vanguard of conservative Christian politics, Trump dubbed DeSantis “Ron DeSanctimonious” at a rally in Florida over the weekend.

. . . a narrator declares that “on the eighth day, God looked down on his planned paradise and said, ‘I need a protector.’ So God made a fighter.”

The current nomination battle has a definite religious orientation.

And rightly so--since the forces of darkness have gathered strength and the American scene is trending towaed a Marxist chaos.

Rhonda Santis chose to partner with GOP-Establishment RINOs.

Rhonda Santis chose poorly.

Sounds like he plagiarized Paul Harvey’s 1978 speech to the Future Farmers of Americ entitled “So God Made a Farmer.”

Like him or not, Donald Trump is going to be the 2024 GOP presidential nominee, period. He’s too far ahead for anyone else to catch him.

This leaves his GOP primary opponents with two choices. Rally around Trump and work as a team to defeat the corrosive Democrats.

Or hang on, and ghoulishly hope that something bad happens to Trump.

I’m done with any candidate who chooses that second path. Now, and in the future.

He looks like the reincarnation Mario the Pious, as Rush used to call Cuomo.

If she is suggesting that Ron is a fighter; color me skeptical.

You don’t get to be the governor of a major state by being a fighter

You get to be governor by being a consummate deal maker and a great fund raiser.

You raise funds and make deals by making friends not fighting which makes enemies.

In normal times, in good times we could use a man like Ron.

These are not normal times and are really BAD times.

We need a president that is a take no prisoners warrior.

It looks like some of that Judas Pence / Ron Meatball walking around money found its way to Jack Jenkins’ (religion news) doorstep.

Funny how that happens.

LOL!

The hubris and arrogance and just plain cringeworthiness of that ad is amazing!

And for anyone to state, seriously, that the ad had any relevant value is simply amazing!

When Hillary Clinton was getting the snot beaten out of her by Obama, she tried “remaking” herself two or three times during the campaign. That rarely works.

I had thought the “desanctimonious” epithet was weak, but casting himself as a God appointed protector puts him on the wrong side of the Gregory Peck line.

Trump is the Democrats choice as well. They have put all their eggs in the lawfare basket. If they take him out, they can win. If they don’t, there mad dash for destroying the Republicans and opposition will be lost. It is a high risk poker game for America.
