So if you live in the Sunbelt where it gets hot don’t buy an electric car.
They also won’t charge or run well in cold winters.
So if you live up north where it gets cold don’t buy an electric car.
Salt spray from the ocean can cause corrosion of batteries.
So if you live near the ocean where there’s salt spray don’t buy an electric car.
If you live in a place where there’s no salt and temperatures remain between 40 and 80 degrees year round, then you can get an electric car.

My EV can lose HALF of its range in subzero temps.
But since I charge at home and only use it as a commuter car that’s not a problem.
IMHO very few people who can’t charge at home should have an EV as their second (or third, or fourth) vehicle.
I was listening to KFI radio here in Los Angeles area and they had a report of one guy who spent a total of 11 hours trying to charge his electric car at a Tesla charger. He had it towed at the end to his home.
