These Women Felt Pressured To Abort Their Babies – A Thread

CV NEWS FEED // Abortion advocates claim that the legal “right” to kill a child is all for protecting a woman’s “choice” or her “autonomy.” Many women, however, don’t feel like abortion was their choice.

Instead, they were so pressured to abort that they felt they had no choice.

Recently X user @Prolife_Sam posted seven instances of real women experiencing bullying or coercion by pro-choice family members, doctors, and peers. They reveal some common reasons mothers feel forced to kill the life inside them.

Down Syndrome

“Starting off strong with people telling a woman she should get an abortion because her baby has down syndrome (EXTREMELY common).”

It shows a toddler dancing while the mother’s video text reads at the top, “She has down syndrome, you should get an abortion,” and at the bottom is shown a pointing up emoji at her happy child with the words “My reaction.”

Teen Pregnancy

In the next two videos, both mothers say they were told to abort because they were teens. The post reads, “Another super common one – teens who get pregnant are very often told that they should abort, even when they don’t want to, by pro-choicers.”

In the first video, a mom shares that she was told, “You’re only 16 you should get an abortion.” It then skips to a picture of her and her daughter saying, “Does she know how proud I am she was created?”

“You should just get an abortion,” the text flashes on a picture of this pregnant mom before switching to her baby boy with the words, “How could you?” Pro-Choice Fathers

“Being told by pro-choice fathers that they should abort or else they would leave or not help at all. Very common.”

A young woman shares that her child’s father told her “it would be for the better” for her to abort their baby and then refused to support her when she chose life. She then shows images of her newborn son under the text: “How could a human ever be so cruel???”

Age

This bizarre clip is summarized by @Prolife_Sam: “‘Women should be forced to have abortions’ under the age of 25.”

It shows a male college student insisting that any pregnant woman under the age of 25 should be “forced to have abortions” because “you’re looking at brain development, you’re looking at when are people going to be most economically profitable.” He follows by saying, “I would never want a woman in college to carry a baby to term.”

Abuse Victims

“Rape victims being told that they should abort their babies – I see this one often because I am friends with a woman who is pro-life, who conceived in rape. Pro-choicers tell her all the time that she should have aborted her baby.”

A woman shares her heartbreaking story of when she was assaulted at 18 years old and felt forced to abort her child. She says, “I got an abortion not because I wanted to, but because the man I was with at the time used shame and fear to manipulate me.”

Special Needs

“Pro-choice DOCTORS telling women that they should abort even when they don’t want to – very common with special needs children,” @Prolife_Sam writes.

A mom holds her smiling baby with the caption, “The doctors when they told me I should get an abortion and I decided against it.” https://twitter.com/Prolife_Sam/status/1745792006297681946\

Surrogacy

“Surrogate mother told to abort even when she didn’t want to. Literally a news story yet pro-choicers will claim that this doesn’t happen.”

The following news clip covers a surrogate in California being ordered to abort one of the triplets she carries by the babies’ biological parents.

Foster Care System

The last video in the thread discusses problems with a pro-choice mentality in the foster care system. It reads, “This is something I’ve only just recently learned about – being told to, coerced, or even forced to abort if you get pregnant in the foster care system. I’ve gotten multiple messages about this from people with experience of this, saying it’s pretty common in the foster care system.”

A woman sits in her car with the text saying, “POV when I start telling the truth why I got into fostering. I was forced to have an abortion at 17 at 21 weeks along and they cut my uterus in half and I can’t have kids.”

Stories like these expose the truth about support for legalized, unlimited abortion: It’s never really about protecting a pregnant woman’s choice – it’s about forcing one person’s idea of a “good life” on a vulnerable mother.

A friend of mine who went to pray at an abortion clinic (which is thankfully now closed) said he could see women being pulled in by men - with the women looking back resistant to going in. The clinic of course helped them right on in even though it was clear she was going in under duress. A woman I went to church with who had an abortion recounted that her boyfriend forced her to go to that same clinic and get an abortion she did not want to have and how that relationship and that situation greatly grieved her.

Of course that’s “reproductive freedom” and “female empowerment” to be strong armed by a man who doesn’t want his own baby to live.

It would be interesting to know how many women/girls are forced to have abortions vs. having one of their own volition. I wonder if there’s a way to know that true number.

Looks like a good thread to share this story. About two years ago, a grandson decided he wanted nothing to do with fatherhood so he tried to convince his girlfriend to abort. A fight ensued resulting in them both being incarcerated. He got out within a week. Due to earlier indiscretions, she did not.

A letter came in the mail around four months later. Unopened, I handed it to the missus stating “You need to take a look at this”. It sat on the coffee table for three days before she opened it. Inside was a plea from the girlfriend to “rescue” the baby until she gained her freedom. After much coercion from the missus to the grandson, he begrudgingly relented and retrieved the baby from the hospital shortly after her birth. She was five days old.

With dad uninterested and mom still doing the jailhouse rock, baby girl is now sixteen months of age and going strong in our home. This is hands down the sweetest child I’ve ever had the pleasure of raising, she’s always smiling, sharp as a tack, runs around the house with gleeful abandon, and entertains not only herself for hours on end but us as well. A real joy and blessing, if you will.

That boy may yet realize one day his error but it will be too late as she’ll be grown and exceedingly successful.

And years from that epic moment they will hate themselves all the more for their spinless decision to cave...
