The new year's barely underway, and already it's a make-or-break moment for our precarious climate - and the U.S. role in saving it.
Last year was by far the hottest in recorded human history. Yet the United States produced more climate-heating gas and oil during that time than any country in the world—in fact, more oil than any nation in history.
When it comes to why the Biden administration needs to lead the charge to phase out fossil fuels, four reasons stand out.
Going to Extremes
Last year's record-shattering heat and its climate harms left a wake of death, destruction and heartbreak from Lahaina to Libya, Arizona to the Antarctic. Every month since June has blown out temperature records by such huge margins that one scientist called the numbers "gobsmackingly bananas."
Now experts are saying 2024 may be even worse. That's in part because sustained fossil-fueled climate change is being supercharged by the planet-warming El Niño weather pattern.
The "era of global boiling" has arrived. Without dramatic action, annual heat-related deaths are expected to rise 370 percent by 2050, with 525 million more people facing food insecurity. In the coming decades, 1 million animal and plant species could be lost to extinction.
Out-Polluting Progress
The United States plays the pivotal role in the fight against the climate emergency, for better or worse.
In December, as past heat records were melting into oblivion, the U.S. set a record for the most oil produced by any country ever and maintained its role as the world's largestgas producer. It also hit a record for exports of liquified natural gas and became the world's largest LNG exporter.
The Biden administration boasts about enacting bold climate law through the Inflation Reduction Act. But oil and gas projects approved by the administration threaten to entirely erase...

Anthropogenic global “climate change” is a hoax, and in the sum total of any effect on the climate in either a positive or negative direction, is almost entirely self-canceling. There are just too many other much more powerful influences on climate that the earth itself is subject to, that whatever mankind may contribute, pales into insignificance.
For these hucksters to claim otherwise is a vanity and a fabrication created with the aim of placing others under their domination. These people will use only the “facts” that support their thesis, and totally disregard any other interpretation or data that conflicts with their intended outcome. Sometimes it comes out lopsided or completely illogical, like a very cold wet spell really means that some extreme heat or drought must occur to counterbalance the unusual cold or moisture.

Well gosh Jean....the US was nowhere close to the largest emitter of carbon. That would be China. In fact, China is the largest emitter by a mile. China emits MORE THAN TWICE as much as the US in fact.
Last year China opened more coal fired power plants than the US even has - total.
You would do far more to save the earth by campaigning in China to get them to reduce their emissions first.

Oh shut up, ya’ sound as dumb as Jon Carry and that’s pretty hard to do. We just had the coldest streak since all our Great Lakes froze over in the winter of 2024/15, an infinitesimally short time. It even hit -13° last week and that’s the SW part of the state.
To measure the Earth’s temperature accurately you would need several million accurate readings every few hours from all depths of the oceans, every terrestrial difference from the shorelines, the plains, to the mountain tops, to all layers of the atmosphere five miles high all for an entire century to see an accurate trend. Only a low IQ person would accept that 4/100’s of a single percent of CO2 is going to suffocate and burn us up.
Furthermore, Earth and our elliptical orbit, the Sun’s variable activities, our solar system within our rotating Galaxy and other countless factors make the determination at any given time. These retards view our planet’s temperature as static and people believe this crap. It’s all about leftist control and has been for decades.
