Just a few charts to look at.

No big deal, right?

I got to thinking on how the great immigration years of the late 1800’s into the early 20th centry compare to what is going on now.

Does the quality of the immigrant matter?

The current mania for mass immigration is in contrast to the screaming from 1968-1990 about “Overpopulation!” which lead to the birth dearth we see in the native population and was one of the justifications for Roe v. Wade.

Funny how the same people who vociferously shrieked about Overpopulation back then are the same people now who scream that we need more “immigrants”.

But of course...the “immigrants” don’t look like us, and are in most cases people from countries that have been our age old enemies.

Funny that

Take a look at the graphs, particularly 1970-1971.

Is it not a coincidence that inflation-adjusted American wages peaked in 1971?

Is it not obvious that “management” got what it wanted and broke American workers?

It can’t all be pinned on the Democrats. How many times have we heard RINOs talking about what the “chamber” wants?

Big spike from the Immigration Act of 1966 establishing chain migration. One family member gets in and then brings the all the relatives.

What I’m looking for now is a chart or numbers relating to the percentage of immigrants to citizens then vs. now.

I have to think that the percentage is off the charts now compared to back then

The inter active link tells me we had 14,204,100 immigrants in 1940. LEGAL immigrants. The US population then was 132,164,569

46,182,100 immigrants in 2020 compared to a population of 329.5 million.

When you compare the legal and illegal immigrants today, what are the numbers? What are the percentages? Do we have 100 million legal and illegal immigrants currently in our country?

1/3 of our population are recent imports?

Can’t just shut it down. We also need to DEPORT tens of millions of illegal alien invaders who are already here.

Doesn’t matter. The point of immigration was to stock the country. It’s full.

All I have to do is go over to my local CostCo to see the result of mass immigration - you’ll hear every language in there EXCEPT English.

We need at least 30 years of no immigration

We need a policy like Japan. NO IMMIGRATION. Japan has maintained it's culture and history for centuries.

Oh wait...

Google says....

Is Japan accepting more immigrants?

The acceptance of substantial numbers of foreign workers as a national policy has, in fact, already begun. In 2019, the Japanese government made a significant decision to open its doors to lower-skilled “blue-collar” foreign workers by introducing the Specified Skilled Worker visa program.Sep 21, 2023

A great historian I admire one said "All great societies import their working class." Rome, Britain, America, etc. And we all know what happened to them.

Now will Japan suffer the same fate? History says yes.

The point of immigration in all countries and civilizations was Cheap Labor.

Cheap Labor was the catalyst for the downfall of Rome, Britain, and now America.

What is it we often say? We should have picked our own damn cotton.

Republicans wanted the cheap labor.
Democrats wanted the votes.

We never had a chance.

What they didn’t have in the 1870-1920s...

Excessive welfare benefits: Food stamps, Aid to Families with Dependent Children, free or subsidized housing, race-based higher education...

Woke culture that hates traditional American values of hard work and learning, and a merit-based system.

Belief that rags-to-riches is impossible because of evil white people institutionalized supremacy and racism.

democrat party leadership that hated America and all that she stood for, er, wait, they did have that.

No Kidding!

Immigrants off the boat back then lived 10 to a room in squalid tenements with no assistance.

Today Illegals get $5,000, free health care, free housing, social security, voting rights, free education, travel to New York (well that’s no benefit, but still) and so much more.
