I enjoyed it. I assume the initial scene will make more sense later on?

That initial chapter will be a very important component of the story. I'd never think to just add a gratuitous scene for shock's sake.

That's why he's so special. That's why he leads this team.

Among his languages are several dead ones: Sumerian, Sanskrit, and of course Latin (of which, some would argue isn't really dead.)

He's proficient in nearly every dialect of Chinese. The guy is the single best linguist on the planet.

That's nothing. I speak fluent American English, Canadian, British, Australian, Modern Irish, Modern Scottish, Ebonics, US Virgin Islands, British Virgin Islands, Isle of Mann, South African, and Indian English. That's twelve right there.

I was immediately drawn in with the curiosity of various segments, I knew would eventually fall together but for now were just laying groundwork.

How will Jason fit in ? Or was he just a character to help introduce Mark? How will this “crew” work together? Are one of them aliens delivered years ago.? Are they sworn to secrecy? No connection with outside for safety and security reasons? Will the aliens be able to take over the bodies on earth at will?

It was a great tease. I wanted more —now. May I reserve your first copy? Signed of course and paid with green.

That subtly emphasizes that he could be barred (or shot) should he fail inspection and try to enter anyway.**
