RE: My "love letter" to Adrian Newey in last wweek's Barain thread, during his pre-race grid walk at Barain, Martin Brundle stopped to ask Jeremy Clarkson (formerly of the BBC's "Top Gear") who his money was on in the race.

His reply:

"Adrian Newey."

And FWIW, since Red Bull's investigation concluded the charges were baseless, Horner was cleared of charges. However, the woman scorned continued her public derogation of Horner, so Red Bull has suspended her (with pay).

They told her, in essence, "You lost, now shut up and get back to work." But she wouldn't.

And Hambone (who only opens his mouth when he needs to change socks) is floating the myth that Newey might be joining him at Ferrari in 2025.

Which is absurd on its face because what idiot would walk away from the most dominant team in the sport -- of his own creation -- and which looks to stay that way for the immediate future? And much of Red Bull's success stems from the fact that, as both Technical Director and Chief Aerodynamicist, Newey is given unprecedented control over car design and execution. Scuderia Ferrari would never in mille anni give Newey that measure of control.

Not to mention Newey already is richer than Croesus, has been flirting with retirement for years, and has no interest in spending that much time in Maranello or in breaking in a new staff (especially not a bunch of Eye-Ties).

Not to mention Hambone is a prima donna and too temperamental and self-obsessed to make a good developmental driver. Newey doesn't need the drama.
