his is the moment a mother instructed her 7-year-old child to steal an unattended purse at a Georgia restaurant.

Surveillance video allegedly captured Kenya Butler, 28, from Union City, Georgia, reportedly encouraging her daughter to take an abandoned purse from a booth at The Juicy Crab.

'After the story aired in the media, we were able to identify Kenya Butler as the offender in this case,' Detective Taylor Dalton of the Newnan Police Department told Fox 5 Atlanta.

The suspect is charged with two misdemeanors: contributing to the delinquency of a minor and theft by taking, per Fox News Digital.

Her daughter is not in any legal trouble.

In the video, Butler is seen getting up from the table with her daughter and leading her to a table with an empty booth.

The mother, carrying another child in her arms, can be seen subtly gesturing with her head for her daughter to pick up the unattended purse.

The daughter is seen hiding the purse from sight as she leaves the restaurant.

The group the suspect was with dined-and-dashed, leaving a $500 bill unpaid for.

Police said the suspect, who is a mother of three, refused to comment as to why she allegedly told her daughter to take the purse.

A male suspect responsible for the unpaid bill is being sought after by the authorities.

The man captured on film was seen with tattoos on both arms and a shirt that read 'Fake love, rich sex.'

Butler was arrested on March 13 and made her $2,300 bond the same night.

Her court appearances have not been scheduled yet.

They should charge the child too, you know this is not the first time this has happened.

As "shocking" as seeing the Sun rise in the morning.

This brought up old memory of same happening to my hubby and I many years ago. We went for pizza and to play some pinball at a place in east Long Beach, CA.
Middle of the week and afternoon of a school day. I had a light shirt jacket and a purse that was popular back in 1970’s…hobo style fold over bag. We had our food and drinks along with my shirt on the table and playing a pinball machine right next to the table. There was a long haired scrungy guy in the restaurant with 5 kids ranging in age from 4 to 12. They were wild and running all over the place. I thought it was odd because none of these kids looked like they were related to each other or to him.
Not sure which kid, but I think it was the youngest one in to snatch my purse and took the shirt. Big mistake taking the shirt because I noticed my missing items right away.
We went out the door to the parking lot and blocked him from driving off with my things…there were other purses and personal items in the car.
They gave me my things, but the older girl actually asked if she could have my shirt jacket!
Next door to this restaurant was a Winchells Donuts and there were policeman parked there on a break. The hippy dude begged that we not say anything because they gave our stuff back. We said of course! As soon as he drove off we turned him in to the PD. The officers trailed him down the street and pulled him over. We drove past the bust just to be sure.
I have to say I was so pleased to turn that @ss in! These were not his kids. We thought perhaps they were placed in his or his girlfriends care and he was using them to steal. Learned my lesson about keeping my eye on personal items that day.

I’m really tired of these Hominids we are forced to live with.
Send a percentage of them back to Africa where they belong. Easy to figure out who they are, not that the Africans want them back!

Sounds like a relatively harmless encounter. Glad that it didn't ruin your day!

I repeat: I am sincerely glad that your encounter was relatively "benign," and that neither you nor your husband were inordinately inconvenienced!

The beginning of your narrative had me fearing that there was going to be a grim turn of events - with, e.g., you and your husband being "taken downtown" by the police for violating the hippie's "civil rights."

Be honest: Nowadays, the story might have ended that way - especially if the hippie had been a member of a "protected class."

Understand your post, but you present your response as correcting my narrative. This is a negative response on your part. I shared my story…perhaps I should not have. It seems to cause problem for you. Apologies for sharing my experience.

In a just world, patrons would have dragged "mom" outside to the nearest dually truck with a tool box on the back, pulled out a reciprocating/circular saw and taken her arm off. If she couldn't keep her ignorant mouth shut, take her tongue out too....make sure the daughter sees it.

Ripped the restaurant off for the 500 dollar tab, and I’ll bet you they worked their poor waitress to death and left no tip.
