Has anyone else noticed that Youtube is at it again, trying to block users who use an adblocker? The past several days have been hit and miss. About the only way I've been able to get around it is one of two ways:
1. to save videos to Watch Later, close the browser, then reopen the browser to view them, or
2. delete all cookies and cache and then log back in.
But either of these two fixes are temporary because it happens almost every day now. Has anyone seen this, and have a newer fix for this?
Thanks.
I was using Windows 7 so I didn’t have all the benefits of a newer Brave browser though I have uBlock Origin installed on it and up until a few days ago life was good. Now, not so much. So I’m on Windows 10 now, with the latest Brave and uBlock Origin, to see if that makes a difference.
Good point to make, thank you!
I tried that, just wasn’t happen with it and it lacks some of the features that UTube has, unless it’s been updated in recent months.
Tried that, doesn’t work. Only closing the browser and reopening it helps.
So there’s money to be made on Rumble?
Never heard of it.

NEVER! I live on YouTube from waking to sleeping. Love it. Couldn’t care less about the small fee to be ad free. Mostly watch Chinese and Korean dramas these days, though I also subscribe to paid sites for them, too. Never watch any news. Get all my news from conservative websites I trust. Never watch any political commentators. Rarely do they have the indepth info that I find on websites that I can easily skim and not waste my time slogging thru meandering video observations and side tangents that waste my time.
Have my own channel and have had 4 million views, and I’ve enjoyed interacting with the viewers greatly. YouTube does the work of getting copyright release and I’m only grateful to them.
I use Firefox and the free ‘uBlock Origin’ and have not had any issues yet.
It is also available for Chrome etc.
Google search: uBlock Origin
Chrome will be changing uBlock Orgin unless uBlock can update the extension.
Search result: Starting June 2024, adblockers such as uBlock Origin and many other extensions on Chrome will no longer work as intended. Google Chrome will begin disabling extensions based on an older extension platform, called Manifest V2, as it moves to the more limited V3 version.Jan 2, 2024
I haven't used FF since they changed their GUI and they fired one of their programmers for being too conservative.
This is all getting too much. The more the user tries to circumvent the controls being implemented by users like you and me, the more the powers at be disable them or render their websites unusable unless we drop the adblockers.
Insanity.
I hadn’t really paid attention until I saw your post.
About a month ago I downloaded/installed the trial version of Malwarebytes. I promptly noticed that ads in YT videos became glitchy, but then forgot about it because I rarely look at YT unless I’m looking for something specific.
About a week ago or so the MWB trial expired and I’ve procrastinated uninstalling it to rid myself of the nag screen to get me to buy it.
Since then, I noticed both while the software was active and after the trial expired that some websites linked on FR wouldn’t let me view articles with large banners “you’re using an adblocker”).
As well, after seeing your post and confirming it last night, it appears that the expired trial of Malwarebytes has CANCELLED ALL ADS on YT videos.
FWIW
Nope.
See my #71.
It works for me.
I use Brave. All I have to do is hit refresh.
Interesting side effect huh? I tried Malwarebytes YEARS ago but was never happy with it, and I’ve seen a few negative reviews about it over the years. But maybe it’s something to try if all else fails. Thanks for your input.

May main use i9s if something causes me to have to miss Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy, I catch them on Youtube later that evening.
I notice that some creators are filiming their own promotions inside the videos.
FWIW, I use PC Matic.
I’ve never heard of that until just now. How well does that work? I’ve been using Comodo but I’m not very happy with it and have thought about switching.
