She better add the auto maker to the defendants list. The seatbelt was obviously defective.

If you want pothole-dodging experience and practice, drive the El Camino Real on the San Francisco Peninsula. All of our road repair money has gone to our newcomers from the south, their healthcare, and their zero percent mortgage loans. I guess there’s a slight consolation that they might also get a neck compression fracture from hitting their heads on the car roof.

That’s pretty bad! Of course, I live in NJ, the home of potholes
My co-worker’s car got all messed up from hitting a pothole on the approach to the Garden State Parkway!

I specifically bought my vehicles for the last decades to not have a sunroof, to give me the greatest amount of headroom, possible.
This lady is responsible for her own injury.

And her car was still drivable after hitting a pothole that she claimed did that kind of damage to her?
Not buying it.
That said, she’ll probably win, sadly.
Not that I have any sympathy for cities which do not repair potholes, but because she’s just trying to win life’s lottery and should not be rewarded for that kind of grifting.

I remember now that one city was able to avoid paying damages by saying nobody told me there was a pothole. At that point the ambulance chasers got together to do a website where people reported potholes to them, and they updated the website to the city.
I wonder if that would work in San Francisco?

That’s a big screw up in her fake case, IMO. I’d sure not give her anything if I were on a jury. Also, where’s the mention of the damage to the car? Something that violent should have damaged something.

I have wondered what will be the smallest pothole required to total an EV.

That guy in British Columbia got a SCRATCH on the battery pack of his EV and the insurance totalled it.

My street had one appear very similar in size to that one. I emailed DPW. Within a few hours it was fixed.
But then a week ago, I was in Ft. Wayne, IN for work. I was pulling a 1 foot trailer loaded down to about 6000 lbs. The road took a turn but the curb didn’t and stuck out into the road. That along with a 4” deep hole right in front of it launched my entire trailer into the air and broke a leaf spring in the suspension.
That didn’t cause lifelong injuries to me but it sure got my attention.

Of course, I live in NJ, the home of potholesThat's because the PDRNJ (People's Democratic Republic of New Jersey) has been stealing potholes from PA for years. But that's OK, we have plenty to spare.

She might have had really bad injuries but we’ll never know from a newspaper account. So called journalists write these stories to sell newspapers, not to accurately inform the public.

Only PA makes the best potholes into state parks.
