Yes, it's nice, but I have a whole slew of construction guys walking by. I turned around and talked to one while I was typing a message to dittomom earlier. He thought he was distracting me from something important (har!).

Dear Teach:

Please excuse Robert from class earlier, he was sent to Alabame by his mean, nasty boss to make more money so I can spend it.

Signed,

His darling, glorious, humble, smart, trustworthy (except for turtles) lovely and talented daughter.

pardon me while i chat away here, all by myself in the classroom this AM...

ummmm....miss rika... you might want to reconsider some of your...daily activities....

Better behave on the streets on Houston. The City Council has passed a "civility ordinance" to keep those sidewalks polite.

The Council voted 12-3 on Wednesday to ban "Dumpster diving," aggressive panhandling and sleeping on downtown streets during the day — that means no rummaging in garbage bins or snoring on the sidewalk, and no panhandling within 8 feet of automated teller machines, pay phones, parking meters, gas pumps or people who object.

Homeless advocates call the law unfair profiling, while supporters say it targets only offensive or dangerous behavior, not the homeless. The police are ready, though. They say they will not arrest violators, but instead will send them to social service agencies.

Here is another Onion piece, this time on Nugent. Pretty funny. Somehow I doubt that Ted will make a big stink over The Onion making up false quotes and printing fictitious stories about him.
