Hello to all my Freeper Friends
And
God Bless all of you
J

In recent months I have lost both of my parents at ages respectfully 90 & 92 years of age.

When I was 24 years of age my parents adopted a young boy (an Hispanic boy) and raised him as their own son.

That young man and I became very good friends and, in fact, he became my brother. We were very close.

19 months ago I lost my Father. 7 months ago I lost my Mother. 12 days ago I lost my Brother. He was only 42 years of age when he passed to be in the arms of our God.

I am 60 years of age. It hurts much more to see the younger ones pass.

I am very proud of my support and monthly contributions to FreeRepublic.com and to all my fellow Freepers, very little as it may be.

When times are rough I know that I may always rely on my Freeper friends wherever they may be.

(I am now reminded of the great thread posted by one of our own, Herb Meadows. "In My Mothers Arms")

For some reason in these days I find comfort in that great old song This Old House by the great musical artist, Rosemary Clooney of times past. I would like to share it with all of you.

In closing I would like to make this observation. Once again our great Republic is involved in a war. Once again Our Great Nation has entered this engagement on the side of God and those principles which are right.

God Bless America
God Bless Freerepublic.com
God Bless You and I
God Bless Us, each and every one.

Thank you for taking the time out of your busy day to read this thread.

Hang in there... Family reunions are always best after long periods of separation, much as we'd like to see 'em every day.

Sorry to hear about your familial losses. I hope time softens your grief.

Ecc. 3:1 To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:
3:2 A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted;...

Not much, but it always helps me.

Hello. God bless, keep, and carry you through this time of loss you are experiencing.

I found this website that has some neat things: Just Jesus without the Junk. The linked page has some good stuff for you perhaps. Just Jesus without the Junk Today's devotion.

Here is the last paragraph of this devotion:

"Today, you may be very weak with illness—physically, spiritually, or emotionally, or you may be facing many unpleasant things that bring with them great fear. Remember this, if I—as an earthly parent—could comfort my little child in his time of great need, how much more can the Almighty Father God comfort you right now? He has promised to be there in your greatest time of need, to quiet you with His love, and to be right there next to you whispering sweet lullabies in your ear. Let Him drown out all the pain and sorrow. He will comfort you, and—if you listen quietly at this very moment—He will calm and soothe you with lullabies of love from up above."

God bless you. (And, LadyX - thank you for your post in this thread also - meant a great deal....always does).

I'm sorry to write with these times . Just know that people are here for you and the hurt you live with now is shared with so many people .

Your loss is mourned but open arms greater than ours await them .
