Hello to all my Freeper Friends
And
God Bless all of you
J
In recent months I have lost both of my parents at ages respectfully 90 & 92 years of age.
When I was 24 years of age my parents adopted a young boy (an Hispanic boy) and raised him as their own son.
That young man and I became very good friends and, in fact, he became my brother. We were very close.
19 months ago I lost my Father. 7 months ago I lost my Mother. 12 days ago I lost my Brother. He was only 42 years of age when he passed to be in the arms of our God.
I am 60 years of age. It hurts much more to see the younger ones pass.
I am very proud of my support and monthly contributions to FreeRepublic.com and to all my fellow Freepers, very little as it may be.
When times are rough I know that I may always rely on my Freeper friends wherever they may be.
(I am now reminded of the great thread posted by one of our own, Herb Meadows. "In My Mothers Arms")
For some reason in these days I find comfort in that great old song This Old House by the great musical artist, Rosemary Clooney of times past. I would like to share it with all of you.
In closing I would like to make this observation. Once again our great Republic is involved in a war. Once again Our Great Nation has entered this engagement on the side of God and those principles which are right.
God Bless America

I heard an army chaplain talk in church and he described what it was like doing services in boot camp with the raw recruits ---
his favorite DI line (( tough guy )) --- crescendo was ...
"pull yourself up (( together )) by the hair on your head (( bald ))" ---
the laughing helped !

Thank you for letting us know, FRiend. I'm sorry for your loss, and I can feel your own great sorrow.
Life seems so brief and fragile. We're all so lucky to be here, and know the loves we know.
Blessings on you. I'll be keeping you in thought and prayer.
Semper fi, Freeper.

Just about everyone hits some rough patches in the road.
You sound like you're taking a good approach to your situation.
But, if things ever seem kinda' too dark, please don't think about "checking out early".
Always stay for "the end of the movie" so you can find out how it turns out.
Hang in there!

So sorry for your losses-hope you have wonderful memories of them all to share with family and friends.
Thanks for the song link; haven't heard that song in ages! That one makes me think of this great old song, too: The Wayward Wind by Gogi Grant.

6Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. 7And
the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
