A call to prayer warriors to unite in "targeted" prayers - prayers aimed specifically at geographic areas of Iraq that are involved in heated battle (cities, towns, locales, objectives). Reason: In Old Testament God was specific in His instructions to those involved in armed conflicts. As we read or hear about battles going on in specific cities in Iraq or regions - we can unite to pray for the battles in these areas. We are not just fighting Saddam and his henchmen. There is a very real spiritual battle taking place because anywhere such evil has been allowed to fluorish as it has inside Iraq - "principalities, powers, and forces of darkness" take up residence in physical locales as well as inside the human beings dwelling there.
We are not able to defeat the legions of demons inside Iraq - but there is One who is MORE THAN ABLE to do so. We must engage in the conflict simply as being a front line prayer warrior - holding up a certain region before God in prayer and asking that the One who came to this earth to DESTROY THE WORKS OF THE DEVIL and who, while He was here, went from town to town, delivering people from the hosts of wickedness that indwelt them - displaying his supreme AUTHORITY OVER EVIL SPIRITS and DEMONS and SATAN himself - this One, Jesus Christ - and His Holy Angels would be present in power and authority to defeat the demonic hordes of certain specific locales involved in intense fighting.
Yes, we are praying for individuals in our military and for our general war effort and for the families of those involved and for our President and our leaders.
But we can also do STRATEGIC PRAYING FOR LOCALES in the "news" as we read/hear about setbacks for instance and/or areas needing breakthroughs - and that kind of praying is what I am encouraging with this post.
For any who would like to participate - post here or Freepmail me and I will post a locale / specific area each day for "targeted" prayer warrior praying.
For those who do not agree with this effort - or who deny the ongoing spiritual warfare involved in what we are doing - that's fine. God bless you.
By the way - we don't have to do all the praying in public - we should not even do so. But we can unite on a locale, a strategic prayer objective, and then go to the prayer closet! We should keep praying for the strategic objective until that objective has been "clearly achieved".
First Targeted Prayer Locale: BASRA.

Story about Basra - good work. Now let's ask God to liberate BASRA! To destroy the works of the devil inside that town. Hold up that town to God in prayer, asking for HIS DELIVERANCE OF THAT AREA FROM THE FORCES OF DARKNESS! AND THANK HIM FOR IT!!! PRAISE HIS HOLY NAME!

IN a huge blow to Saddam Hussein's pride, his vast presidential yacht is believed to have been sunk in a coalition air strike.
Typically, his yacht - the luxurious Al Mansur - was the largest ship in the Iraqi navy, despite having no military value whatsoever.
But following an attack by allied bombers on the port of Basra, Saddam's floating pride and joy is now understood to be partially submerged.
Also destroyed in the attack were virtually the entire remnants of the Iraq navy, with two large patrol boats and a supply ship left shattered on the bed of the Shatt Al Arab river.
With at least one other Iraqi patrol boat already sunk in the Persian Gulf, and six patrol boats under allied control at the port of Umm Qasr, Saddam now has no effective maritime force.....
Yes, in this current one against the legions of the 'other one,' we need His intervention to gain all victories without shedding the blood of our sons and daughters.
We can also pray for the hearts of the enemies to somehow be changed and simply give up the fight - and for them to find our loving God rather than one who destroys.
We can actively pray for all the innocents in the paths of conflict, and for the establishment of a more benign government.
The Book of Isaiah says one glorious day, every knee shall bow, every tongue shall swear that He is Lord!
We pray for that day for all of your children, Lord.
