In order that we might all raise the level of discourse and expand our language abilities, here is the daily post of “word for the day”. Rules: Everyone must leave a post using the “word of the day”; in a sentence. The sentence must, in some way, relate to the news of the day. Practice makes perfect.....post on....

Their Presidential hopes in 2004 will not even be a fantasy if they cannot produce the states electoral votes, and a Republican in the state house damages that possibility enough to force a massive diversion of resources thatmight otherwise be employed in other close states.(PA-Michigan-Fla....etc)

That is the best part.
