Is that photo real? I can't believe that woman can stand up. She desperately needs help.

...a cheeseburger intervention, perhaps?

Or a few meals at the Salt Lick might turn her right.

Cheers.

Well, because we are fair and balanced here, hee hee, I can post some nekkid men to balance off BWB's nekkid lady shoppers.

These men are nekkid for a good cause, though. They are Grange members trying to raise money (not from Iowa but from Oregon).

'Mr. September,' Chris Shown, a vineyard owner, looks on while photos from the calendar he appears in are viewed by another calendar participant, Wednesday, Oct. 1, 2003, in Junction City, Ore. The fundraising calendar featuring the men of the Junction City Grange is the latest Oregon gambit to raise money for local schools, in a state where teachers have already lined up to sell their blood plasma and ranchers have auctioned off the rights to hunt for buffalo and antelope on their property. I can't tell you how fortunate I feel to live in Iowa rather than where ever these Grange dudes are from...

Yep - I can't say how much I appreciated her stopping by for a quickie meal on her, God only knows, how many hour drive home from her day's efforts.

This lady is working her ass off for our country.

She is something else, indeed.

Howdy. We're back from Chicago - what grand and glorious weather we had! I got a chuckle out of the little notices in the hotel room (Chicago Hilton) about keeping windows closed so the ladybugs wouldn't fly in the room. We got the house sprayed on Friday, so our house is surrounded by their little dead carcasses. The marathon went well; Mr. M knocked about 9 minutes off his Boston marathon qualifying time, so the trip was not in vain. Of course, he'll try to better that next month in Richmond.

Prayers for your mother, J.

Page Six gossip:

WHICH well-connected Republican was upstairs at Bruno's for an hour while his dinner date was in the ladies' room trying to get her nose to stop bleeding? Seems her proboscis was damaged by beaucoup blow.

What is going on in Dick Cheney's head?

... (S)ome folks at the Republican National Committee are outraged and other folks at the White House are chagrined that "K Street" consultant Mary Matalin called the RNC last Tuesday to ask that George Clooney and Steven Soderbergh, the die-hard Dems who produce and direct the HBO show, be allowed to send a camera crew to Wednesday night's big presidential fund-raiser in Washington. "Your source is probably outraged because they weren't asked to be on 'K Street,'" responded Dick Cheney adviser Matalin, noting that her request was granted (though "K Street" ended up not sending the crew). Matalin added: "I do question if the people who are chagrined and outraged are high level. I wish they would call me instead of you. My phone number's listed. But I am profoundly apologetic, and it will never happen again." source

Thank you, all of you, for your prayers and sweet condolences. Mama's still hanging on, but it won't be long now.

Sunday morning was the last time she was conscious and able to speak to me. The nurses had put on her makeup and lipstick and I told her how pretty she looked. Her last words to me were, "Does my hair look OK?".

I'll cherish that.
