On the eve of his first debate with Gov. Ted Kulongoski, Republican hopeful Ron Saxton said the Democratic incumbent has "all but sold out" his campaign to the public employee unions.
Saxton also mocked the unions' labeling of him as "Public Enemy No. 1" for his advocacy of reforming Oregon's retirement system for public workers and reducing the cost and size of government.
"The public employee union bosses and their defender Ted Kulongoski want to prevent any changes to the state government bureaucracy," Saxton says in a new radio spot that aired Thursday. "Public union bosses don't like me because I'll make big changes changes they don't want."

What time tomorrow? Where?
I think this debate was held last week at the Resort at the Mountain, near Bend. It wasn't televised, nor were any other candidates invited, and the other candidates were not pleased.
Notice how Saxton's statements never include public teachers, who get raises at twice the rate of state employees? Teachers also have better retirement benefits than state employees. I believe he will just move more state money to teachers, increasing their greed.
probably, he will be a turn coat like most politicians. Ill pass on this election.

Sheesh, why all the negativity? If a candidate goes after unions in his advertising, he's already better in my opinion than most Republican "leaders." Give him a break, even if you can't support him.
