To the surprise of probably none of the 1,800 Democrats packed into a Birmingham ballroom Friday night, former President Clinton said he's decided women should run everything.
"I think it's a real hoot you elected the first woman chief justice," Clinton told state Democrats at their annual Jefferson-Jackson Day Dinner. He was referring to Alabama Chief Justice Sue Bell Cobb, the first woman to hold that office in state history.
"You know, I've about decided women ought to run everything," a grinning Clinton said as the crowd yelped and clapped.
The quip was an obvious plug for his wife, Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton of New York, who is seeking the Democratic Party's nomination for the 42nd president's old job. Clinton applauded the diversity of the Gulf Coast shipping community he visited after Katrina. He took a jab at the current administration, stating Democrats would have at least hired a competent political ally to run the Federal Emergency Management Agency.
The 42nd president encouraged a change in the nation's foreign policy, to steer away from an "our-way-or-the-highway" mentality. He said the United States "cannot kill, jail or occupy everybody that is not for you."
Clinton did praise the recent negotiations between President Bush's administration and North Korea. "That is the exception that proves the rule," he said.
Apparently, women have been running Clinton - and vice versa - actually they have likely been controlling Clinton from the get-go. His mess of a Presidency was enough of an example of Hillary’s style of control.
I think he picked up the lip-biting technique from her...
