Mike Huckabee called on his supporters to get on their knees and ask "for God's wisdom" as he entrusted his political fate in tonight's Iowa caucuses to a higher power.
At a concert and rally that drew 1,500 people to a neon-lit ballroom on the outskirts of Des Moines, the Republican front-runner in Iowa looked to the Lord for help against his nearest rival - smooth, well-funded Mitt Romney.
Mr Huckabee, a Baptist minister and former Arkansas governor, picked up his bass guitar to jam with a band called the Boogie Woogers and welcomed on to the stage the martial arts film star Chuck Norris.
Polls show Mr Huckabee clinging on to a narrow lead over Mr Romney, the multi-millionaire former Massachusetts governor.
Mr Huckabee has drawn considerable backing from religious conservatives, some suspicious of his rival's Mormon faith, and from those who view Mr Romney's conversion to conservatism as too recent and convenient to be plausible.
Waiting in the wings are Rudy Giuliani, still holding on as the national front-runner, and John McCain, surging into the lead in New Hampshire, which votes next week. Neither man is contesting Iowa seriously, though Mr McCain is hoping for a third-place showing and Mr Romney wounded by a Huckabee victory.
"Nobody has ever been out-spent 20 to one, has ever had the kind of unbelievable force that has risen up against us," said Mr Huckabee, portraying himself as a plucky David against a corporate Goliath to a raucous ballroom.
"I know where I come from. The Prophet said it in Isaiah, 'Unto the rock from which you were hewn and the quarry from which you were dug'. I understand where I come from. A little rent house in Hope, Arkansas, a dad who worked two jobs and never finished high school."

Democratic Governor Endorses Mike Huckabee
Instead we have conservatives lining up behind Mike Huckabee because he agrees with them on two issues - gay marriage and abortion - neither of which the president can do much about. And all the while they ignore his liberal history as governor of Arkansas. If Huckabee is a real conservative, explain this: Since he's running in the Republican primaries for president, don't expect Mike Huckabee to be advertising the strong endorsement he just got from Ted Strickland, Ohio's Democratic governor.
It seems Mr. Strickland, who typically racked up a 95% rating from the liberal Americans for Democratic Action during his 16 years in Congress, has discovered a kindred spirit in Mr. Huckabee. He told the Cincinnati Enquirer last Sunday that Mr. Huckabee is a "combination of conservative views in some ways, but very, almost liberal views in other ways." Mr. Strickland concluded: "Of all the Republican candidates, Mr. Huckabee would be my personal choice."
NOW,,, THERE SHOULD BE NOT DOUBT IN YOUR MIND....HUCKABEE IS LOVED BY DEMOCRATS.
God save us if he is actually nominated by the Republican party, or should I say "former" Republican party ..if that actually occurs.
YOUR CHOICE This OR This.

NEITHER IS A PRETTY PICTURE

Mike Huckabee is laughable
Huck calls a press conference and shows the media the ad that gosh, by golly, he just couldnt bring himself to run. Along with expensively produced story boards and graphics.
Because he is, after all Americas Nice Guy regardless of the risk, regardless the cost.

Brennan at THE AMERICAN PUNDIT describes Huck's flip on the ad:
"Huckabee is so full of crap I can smell him from here. His strategy was obvious and simple: Announce youre pulling the ad at the last minute to show how nice and moral a person you are, then show it to a crowd of cameras and reporters so the content gets seen and talked about anyway. He may not know about the NIE, AIDS, immigration, foreign policy, or anything actually, ya know, important, but he definitely has the slimy part down pat.

Fred Thompson
The Real Conservative
For Republicans to win the White House, we must be united and have a large voter turnout . We must get the fiscal conservatives; national security conservatives; and religious conservatives to get behind a candidate who has the best platform for all of these areas. Fred Thompson, is the only candidate not alienating any of these voting sections, and can unite the party. Fred is the best hope we have in the 2008 election. Fred Thompson can win the general election, and rest assured the other party and the liberal media (including FOX) knows it. He unites the Republican constituencies and assures a large conservative voter turnout in the 2008 election.
On Gun Control and Illegal Immigration he hits a home run.

"When I am president, I will build a fence." ...Fred Thompson
"No Amnesty. Do not provide legal status to illegal aliens. Amnesty undermines U.S. law and policy, rewards bad behavior, and is unfair to the millions of immigrants who follow the law and are awaiting legal entry into the United States. In some cases, those law-abiding and aspiring immigrants have been waiting for several years."...Fred Thompson
"My idea of Gun Control is a good, steady aim." ..Fred Thompson
"Saddle Me Up"

The New “American” Taliban... or at least that will be the impression which the general electorate receives even if the Huckster doesn’t get the nomination.
This guy is going to set back the conservative movement by 50 years.

That stuff might work in places like Iowa, but not like FL. GOP can win without CA and NY, but not FL.
I’m worried we will depend on FL all over again in November.

“Mike Huckabee entrusts fate to higher power”
Memo to Mike:
You need more then one vote to win.
While his is, an important one, in this case, he says you need more then one to get the job done.
