Zogby on 2012: Palin leads among Republicans, Romney leads among all voters

Exactly, blaring headline that Romney leads among all voters and the lead is .3, and the rest of Zogby’s numbers don’t line up with either Gallup or Rasmussen.

If the folks at MSNBC get a hold of these numbers we’ll have to see another video of Sarah being interviewed with functioning Turkey guillotines in the background.

But, this time since it’s closer to Christmas, they’ll most likely set up the interview in front of a Wal Mart store right before the sale starts.

This proves conservative Republicans do not want Romney.
And given that Zogby sauces his work, the gap is probably underestimated.
This also suggests that Team Romney will try to destroy Gov.Palin again
while using Democrats (as before) to hurt,
while appearing (but not in the final vote)
to expand his base against, the GOP.

Romney is the arsenic in the the GOP.

Even a year ago nobody could imagine it would be Obama vs McCain. It was all about Hillary vs Giuliani. I suspect that whoever will be nominated to run against Obama will be a current unknown.

Palin appeals to the base but not the middle, Romney appeals to the middle but not the base, same with McCain. We need a candidate that is both staunchly conservative AND charismatic enough to get independent votes. Obama is as far left as they come, yet he was able to portray himself as a moderate and win the middle.

Selecting a moderate candidate that fails to rile up the base is suicide, selecting someone 100% conservative but incapable of reaching outside the base is likewise suicide. The candidate must also have alot of appeal to women, minorities, and youth, we cannot continue to lose these demographics by huge margins.

I’ll give him some time and see what happens. I truly believe Palin and or Jindal are where it’s at. If we run a guy like Sanford or Romney we are so dead.

Seriously. Let’s get through the inauguration, see how the first half of 2009 (at least goes) and gear up for the mid-terms. Yeesh!

Now might be early, but it's never to early to push a dark horse. We need a secret weapon, and we need to think outside the box. That's why I give you...



John "Bradshaw" Layfield. A more outspoken conservative than Palin, and probably knows the economy better than Romney. Just watch him on Cashin' In on Fox News on Saturday mornings and you tell me he couldn't have eaten both Obama and Biden for breakfast in a debate at the same time all by himself.

Laugh if you want, but I'm dead serious. He knows business better than anyone currently in Washington. He's at least as sharp a speaker as anyone in that poll, and, frankly, I think he's smarter than everyone in that poll. Also, he isn't a politician, which is a huge plus in my book.

As far as all the Presidential Beauty Contest crap that, unfortunately, one needs these days, the guy has it all. He looks like a central-casting leader. He's 6'6", which would make him the tallest President in history. His time as a wrestler gives him a unique appeal to the youth vote. Also, that lady standing with him ain't just eye candy; she's a managing director of Oppenheimer and a highly respected financial analyst, and, as First Lady, I'd put her up against anyone in Obama's economic team.

What do you say? Other than Jindal, we've tried everyone in that poll. We need a new Republican Party, and we aren't going to do it with old faces. We need to toss out the Washington rules and come up with our own.

I point out JBL not so much to say that he'd be the ideal Republican Presidential nominee. This is more a commentary on the fact that all I had to do was watch one weekend show and I found someone who is more qualified and more appealing than every single one of those chumps who are trying to pass themselves off as leaders. The point is that we seriously need to start thinking in new directions, here. We need to toss out the political hacks and start thinking about convincing competent people to run. People who have actually done something productive in their lives. People who actually have some inkling of how this country works outside of a government office.

Sorry, I know Palin has some fans around here, and I'm ready to feel some hate over this, but, from where I've been sitting, she ain't it. Frankly, the best thing she had going for her is that she wasn't McCain, and we don't have to worry about McCain anymore. Frankly, I'll be surprised if she even makes it to 2011 as a credible candidate, much less the first primary.

Anyway, the whole point of my post is to get the creative juices flowing. Come on, we don't need to accept the choices the RNC decides to spoon feed us. We're supposed to be the party for people who think for themselves. Well, lets start thinking! Are we going to be content with the same losers who turned the conservative movement into a bad joke, or are we going to demand better?
