here is the idea: Scozzafava is gaining momentum because many of the County Chairs in North Country NY are pro-choice women.
As far as lobbying GOP bigshots in the 23rd .... it would be difficult for out-of-staters to (1) phone them (2) mail them (3) fax them. But emails might work because they won’t indicate that the sender is out-of-state. Question: can we organize 100 such emails to a bunch of GOPers up there, protesting that Scozzafava is completely unacceptable?

She is the one who voted for gay marriage and has a 100% rating from NARAL. She cannot be stopped after the fact because there is no primary.

Like I said, he’d be one of the three most liberal members of the GOP caucus in the Senate.

You could try it, but I tend to find politicos don’t read unsolicited emails and more than likely if they did, they’d want to know #1, your name and #2, your location. Usually as a formality I send that info if I wish a response. Somehow I doubt a D.J. from Nashville, Tennessee is going to elicit anything other than a delete. I think these folks are going to probably have to be met face-to-face to explain the situation. I’d have to know the specifics of the individual chairs, there inclinations, their associations, et al, before I’d even know how to approach them. Some county chairs are known to operate like lords presiding over fiefdoms, and sometimes, they have to have their palms greased, if you catch my drift.

I’ll tell you something else, I may know political history well and have far-flung knowledge of the individual states, but I couldn’t even tell you who the chair of my county GOP is (not that it would matter, since my county’s GOP is non-existent, or a rump of the local Democrats). All I know is that they meet at some fancy restaurant in a place I could scarcely afford.

the only thing I can think of for out-of-staters to do is:
email folks like Oneida County Executive, Anthony J Picente, Jr. who is a GOPer.
If he gets flooded with emails, at least he knows something is up. The locals will have to deal with the County Chairs directly.
It has to get their attention and I cannot think of anything else to do because everything else gives away that you are from out of state. Unless you call and leave a message at the office and use *67 to block the caller ID.
