If Sessions gets us near or above a majority, he should be rewarded with the Speakership (or promoted to Minority Leader, whichever the case). Boehner hasn’t earned the privilege to become Speaker.

You may be right on the second count (I’m no fan of Boehner, either), but I don’t think that being a good recruiter of candidates is sufficient qualification to become Speaker. May I remind you that Tom Davis of Virginia was an excellent NRCCC Chairman around the year 2000, helping us win rural, socially conservative districts that had not been competitive for awhile, but Davis was a RINO who could have never won any in any of those districts himself due to his social liberalism and he would have been unable to hold the GOP caucus together as Speaker.

Sessions has a very good voting record IIRC, but I’m not sure he can jump to Speaker (or Minority Leader) even if 2010 turns out to be a record-breaking year for the GOP. I’d certainly prefer Mike Pence, Eric Cantor, Paul Ryan or Steve King as Speaker.
