Moran. I think he's the more stable and conservative of the two, and the one most likely to attract statewide support. Tiahrt has a streak of flakiness in him. Though with Brownback at the top of the ticket and Obama imploding it'll be tough for the Dems to take anything.
Had Moran run back in ‘02 for Governor, we could’ve avoided the whole Gilligan-Sebelius fiasco from the get-go. I’m not very enamored of Brownback anymore. I think he has been in DC too long (will have been 16 years by Jan 2011), and that may show up once he gets to Topeka (a la Frank Murkowski, Dirk Kempthorne, etc.). Former Senators rarely make good Governors. Our last “R” Governor in TN was a 12-year Congressman, and he ended up a disaster.
